Looking to buy a new car in the next 4-6 months and the Q5 is at the top of my list. What's your impression of Audi so far? Which dealership did you go to? yipengzhao - Good to hear you got another $1000 knocked off, I was about to post that $40K for an ES is a little too much. I really wouldn't be surprised if you could even get more knocked off, my family has purchaed a number of Lexus cars and have been pretty successful in getting good deals.
I finished reading Don't Get Taken Every Time literally 8 hours ago. i'm not even looking to buy a car. do NOT buy a car unless you have read the book. buy it from amazon or where ever. you think you got a good deal, until you read this book. while reading, the book took me back to the whole car buying process when i bought my first car. i was getting mad with every word because i fell for about every trick in that book.
Well, can't really tell you my impression too much. I just literally got the car yesterday, and but it's a great ride and looks fantastic! I got the 2010 TT coupe. I've spent most of the time just learning the navigation system's ins and outs so far. I got it from Roger Beasley Audi in Austin, TX. They had the one I want, and they offered a great deal. Very great dealership that was really friendly and explained everything in detail. From the finance department to the internet sales lady, everyone was very professional and made it seem like they really wanted my business and appreciated that I chose them over the other dealerships. Meanwhile, I went and test drove it first at Momentum Audi on Richmond, and they had a black one I was looking at, but it had $2000 worth of less options on it than the car in Austin, but Momentum wanted to charge me $2000 MORE than the out of door price of the Austin dealership! When I showed them what Austin was offering they said and I quote "How are they able to do that price? It's ridiculous. I don't know why they are offering such a low price." I asked Momentum if they can beat the discount or at least match it. The guy had the nerve to tell me that I had to commit to buying it if he was going to do that much work to match the deal. Said he had to talk to the general manager, and if I was then going to get the one in Austin anyways, I was just going to "waste his time!" I told him the Austin dealership is apparently wasting their time by giving me this deal without even meeting me. He told me they have to because I live in Houston. I guess if I e-mailed Momentum and didn't actually show up personally, they would give me a better deal? . Pretty much a lot of BS and telling me I'm going to waste their time. Needless to say, I told him to shove it and keep his car. I would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND that pathetic dealership. Look elsewhere for your Q5. I'd recommend Roger Beasley Audi in Austin.
I know for Acura TL's the data seems to be dead-on when compared to what I'm seeing people getting the car for in forums that I read. You can also use edmunds.com's TV price as a comparison.
Lexus ES series is an excellent line of cars. I owned a Lexus ES300 and that car won many awards for Best Luxury Car with the Lowest Gas Mileage. It's very comfortable, durable, efficient, and it will last a long time. The only thing I don't like is you are buying it new and from the dealer.
For those that like the ES series, the Toyota Avalon is a good alternative without the premium for the L badges. The ES is a Camry with a Tux.
being a cash deal, I would guess you could get away around $4K under sticker price, ttl. Do the last day of the month and write the check out with the amount you want to pay. I'm sure you could get them around $38K
