I hope Yao makes his own choice. The only warm up event Bogut is playing with the Australian team is the Diamond Ball tournament that's a couple of weeks away. China's also playing in the DB tourny.

Cool, Yao's season starts next week and ends in December-January. The usual.

exactly, those games shouldn't be any more dangerous than a summer league or any other pick up game.

yao had plenty of rest and if the doctors in the us gave their ok, he's ready to make the next step. it's not like he'll play for 40 minutes every other night from now on.

I haven't heard anything lately about Yao's progress on his injury recovery. Is he completely healed now?

Good for Yao. I'm sure not playing/spending hours a day working out or running in a pool gets old.

And i agree with DD about rust. get him moving around a bit and comfortable again, so he'll be comfortable early next year without having to play a whole bunch of minutes to get acclimated.

that doesn't sound very promising considering it's a "STRESS" fracture.

I heard it would be something like 4,5 minutes of getting a touch of the bball type of game for Yao

    SERBIA
    Darko Milicic
    Nenad Krstic
    Kosta Perovic (7'2)
    Boban Marjanović (7'3)

    ANGOLA
    Emanuel Neto (6'9)
    Joaquim Gomes (6'8)

    RUSSIA
    Sasha Kaun (6'11)
    Aleksey Savrasenko (7'1)

I have to say, ideally, given the matchups, Yao starts with Angola. Serbia has way too many bigs to throw at Yao, and you've got height, skill and physicalness all wrapped into that rotation. Angola just has 6 foot scrubs.

I always enjoy watching Yao playing in the summer. Of course, I wouldn't mind if he rest, but hes playing so I will watch. Hes almost like a totally different person over there. Plays with so much pride. Hes much more aggressive. Dunks, taunts people, its great. Like you actually see his american-side when he goes over there.

I know you are joking and being sarcastic, Juan. But what you said there is exactly what the drama queens would think. :)

I don't care. Just by putting on a basketball jersey will cause him a career-ending injury. Yes, I am a drama queen and I am pretty too.

Exactly. The Rockets said over and over he would be playing even if he stayed in Houston in 4 months. So China has done nothing wrong here at all. They just followed what the Rockets' doctors told them. If he is coming back too early it is the fault of the great vaunted Rockets' medical staff, not China.

You shouldn't hope so if you are for rocket's sake, or you don't know Yao very well

I'm just satirizing The New Yorker magazine, I guess.
