It doesn't matter what you get; you need to make sure to shine and buff them regularly, and re-sole them the minute they get worn out. Allen Edmonds are great, but I tend to go through dress shoes after a year or two and I couldn't justify the expense with a non-managerial role in a casual dress work environment. Florsheims and Bostonians are cheap, but I wore those back when I was in school and rode the bus all the time, those soles were done in 3 months. I think a run of the mill Cole Haan or Johnston & Murphy at around $100 or so might be your best compromise.
