My son and his GF are moving to Houston and starting work. He will work in Midtown. She will work DT. They need a one bedroom close to work. They seem to be having trouble finding anything. Willing to pay up to $1600/mo. I can't believe that is necessary. Anybody know of any open complexes that are close in? Of course $1000 to $1200 per mo would be better. I have done some looking and the Houston real estate market is just crazy-- at least close in on the West side.
The cluster of apartment complexes on Montrose/Studemont and Allen Parkway are very good locations. My girlfriend lives in one of those and pays $1300 for a one bedroom.

har.com solves all problems. Also $1600 is more than enough for a 1 BDRM in a new "luxury" complex. If you can't find anything you are doing it wrong. Look at Post Midtown. There are about 1000 apts in greenway plaza which would be a decent compromise as well.
Can't imagine they would have trouble finding something if they are willing to cough up $1600 for a one bedroom. Lived in City Vista on West Dallas about three years ago and paid $1500 I think for a two bedroom. Nice location and not bad overall.

My brother lived in a one bedroom in the Heights off Heights and White Oak for $800 per. I'd love to check that place out today.
