Ahhhhh........I feel just a little better now. If only they both could have lost. I just can't believe that I'll now be rooting for the damn Spurs .
LOL, what an a**, Cuban: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap;_ylc=X3oDMTBpYTg2ZTBwBF9TAzk1ODYxOTQ4BHNlYwN0bQ--?gid=2005052006 Getting 58 wins in their transition year, while also enduring the change from coaching veteran Don Nelson to rookie Johnson, and taking the league's best team this far shows that the future is still bright -- even without Nash. ``If we kept Steve, it would have been a completely different team,'' Cuban said. ``And I like this team a whole lot better.'' Enjoy your loss then, Cuban!!!
why do the west finals start before the east? why does phoenix, which finished off it's opponent in the same number of games as the spurs, only get 1 day of rest to their 2? shouldn't you either make sure both teams get the same amount or make sure the shorter rest is at least two days? this is a really good way to lose homecourt right off the bat even though you finished in the same number of games. and the east team that went 6 games gets 3 days off. oh well.
Well I don't think Disney/NBA was expecting Phoenix to win tonite.......as evidenced by their numerous commercial promo's for Game 7 Mavs/Suns on Sunday
Right, Mark. You'll be looking to move Finley, Stackhouse, Dampier and maybe even Terry before the ink is dry on the next Collective Bargaining Agreement. IMHO, you could build a playoff team from what Cuban has discarded over the past 5 years. Nash, Calvin Booth, Dan Dickau, Antoine Walker, Antawn Jamison, Tony Delk, Danny Fortson, NVE, Raef LaFrentz, Raja Bell, Juwan Howard.... The only question worth asking is "Who's the flavor du jour this summer, Mark"? Cuban's Mavericks are the "Dallas Rent-A-Stars".
Just have never liked him. Watch him the next time he hits a 3 - he gets this look on his face that no one on the other team should even be out there to guard him (although almost all of the time he makes a 3, it is an uncontested one). He is just cocky, that's all and wearing that damn headband doesn't help to change my mind about that. But I will say that if he was on our team all would be forgiven.
Not to mention that he didn't have the IQ to foul Nash with 5 seconds left, and up 3.... Avery said in the post-game press conference that they "would have liked to foul... but didn't get it done." Also, just look at the way he plays defense... he plays it like a guy who is just waiting for the opportunity to get the ball back so he can score, instead of just nutting up and trying to shut down his man. Hell, he couldn't stop Mike James of all people... and thus Avery had to put in Darrel Freaking Armstrong in games 6 and 7 to try and stop him. Terry is what he is... a great perimeter shooter, and an undersized PG that has good scoring ability. He does not make his teammates better, nor is he smart enough to beat a team strictly on his decision making. Frankly, him and Dirk are almost clones in every way... except one is tall and german.
T-Mac pretty much had the same look after hitting the winning jumper in game 2. Did you hate that look too?
Uh, there is a HUGE difference in T-Mac's game and Jason Terry's game. Don't get me wrong - I hate cockiness and have stated several times when we first got McGrady, that I did not like him. I felt he was too cocky and a punk, but of course I pull for him now. And I understand that is always going to be a part of the game - trash talking and smirks and dumb **** like that, but man, do something first before you do that crap. T-Mac is a perennial all-star; what is Jason Terry? An undersized point guard who can hit a 3 with no one guarding him. Big deal. Basically what Nick said sums up everything about Jason Terry.
