Sure - but they'd make that up by beating Missouri in the scenario where they win the B12.

Wow, a UT grad on this board who actually gives someone else credit- cool. No offense to some of you all, because my dad's a UT grad, but some of the UT faithful are an obnoxious bunch-thank God most of them aren't like that (yes, we already know about specific TT posters who will remain nameless). What bothers me every time I come into Houston is that there's one radio station whose slogan is "Home of the Texans, Rockets, and Longhorns..." I almost choked when I heard that. I've been away for 9 years, and this is what it's come to? Where's the support for the Cougars??? Or even the Owls?? Guess that's what winning does.

Didn't Mizzou lose to Kansas? Where will they most likely be ranked?

the only gutsy part about that game was the refs for calling such crap.

congrats tech you beat baylor by 7  enjoy playing in the big 12 championship and not playing for the national championship no matter what.

If OU wins tonight, as much as it pains me to say it, they're heading to the Big XII title game and likely on to the NC game. Texas will go to the Fiesta Bowl and TTU will end up in the Cotton Bowl. Oh well.

I just found it great that BAYLOR is the team who had two penalties negate good plays (both of them turnovers in crucial times) when Tech has their D-Line in a bear hug every play.

A good iwn over Missouri might make up for it.(In missouri)

It was a long shot anyways before todays game might be a little more far fetched now but oh well.

They will still have their case if they do win the Big 12 title game.

But I just don't see OU losing anyways.

Mizzou ranking is going down this week. probably somewhere in the 20's so it won;t be enough to catch Texas in the overall rankings. Also, after barely beating Baylor look for Tech to drop 2-4 spots in the Human polls.

You played well Baylor and that's all I wanted from you. Welcome to the Big XII via blowjob ref calls.

There's no irony- I don't mind giving UT its due- they are a winning school- I think, in all sports, they have the highest winning percentage among all schools, right?- but that doesn't mean they should be a more talked-about topic on HOUSTON sports radio than the Rockets or Astros- or even the Cougars. Last I checked, Austin was 3 hours from Houston. But, again, full props to UT- they win consistently and that's hard to do.

I think, given that Houston is the largest concentration of Texas Exes, I believe, that an argument could be made that UT is of interest to Houston sports fans.

I do agree that UH and Rice should be covered more but, in the end, the radio stations will cover what they think listeners want to hear. I'm a huge Dynamo fan but they don't get tons of coverage because a lot of Houston sports fans don't want to hear about soccer.

I'm hoping both teams are horrible and OU wins 2-0 when the OSU long snapper snaps the ball over the punter's head and through the end zone as time expires.

Great game for your Bears, today!

Good game Baylor.. seems like Tech didn't wake up until having our guy get laid out. I really like Griffin, he could be something in a few years.

When they say home to the "yadda yadda yadda" They mean that they have a contract to broadcast their games.

Umm, yeah, I understand that. And I understand that it's most likely due to (1) a lotta UT grads living in Houston, and (2) the popularity of the team, especially with Vince Young being from Houston and a national championship. For that matter, there are a lot of Aggies in Houston, also, and they have 2 universities that have reached national prestige in the past (Cougars and Owls).

I have to move back to Houston next year, and I really don't care to hear anything on Houston sports radio except for info on the Texans, Rockets, Astros, Cougars, and Owls (and the Dynamo and even the Aeros). Listening to chatter on the Longhorns is just as interesting for me as listening to talk about the Dallas Cowboys or Aggies or Spurs- or even the Baylor Bears, for that matter. If I wanted to hear about the Longhorns, I'd move to Round Rock or Austin itself (though I do like that city). That's just my opinion- and I'm sure UT grad in Houston would completely disagree with me on the basis of the 2 reasons above. My argument is that Houston should be about Houston, period.
