Using this logic, Tee Ball is more difficult than baseball. Tee Ball. In case you are unfamiliar with Tee Ball, it is a sport played primarily by 5-7 year-olds who are not yet ready to play baseball. Something tells me that it's easier to hit a ball off a tee than to hit Roger Clemens' split fingered fastball. Wow! The degree of difficulty in this sport is through the roof! Good point Gutter Snipe! Next....
1. In golf, you have to play your foul balls. 2. In golf, you only get one chance. 3. I'm sorry that you don't play it - you're missing out on the most challenging and rewarding sport in the world.
Wow, and football lineman use their steroid-induced mass to push against another similarly immovable mass. What skill! How about those quarterbacks? Someone hands them a ball from between their legs, they take a couple of steps and throw the ball (which is not 'moving independently' at the time either, but at least it's in their hand). That's really hard to push your body against someone elses! Or to have someone hand you a ball then you throw it! Through the roof! Or how about soccer? Kicking a ball all day...wow, huh! You simplification of golf is no less ridiculous. You also, as usual, ignore any issues that you cannot respond to.
I know I am. I wish everyone in the world would play golf. I can understand how you guys might think that golf isn't a sport. If you were to ever try to play (walking the course), I am confident you would completely reverse your opinion. -- droxford
I heard somewhere that walking and carrying your clubs for 18 holes on an average length course (not a par 3 course), one would burn around 1500 calories. Yeah, no physical exertion there.
I got my handicap 3 weeks ago and they gave me 28,0 but im really playing at 10-12,0 and im trying to lower it right now.
Is Frisbee golf a sport? You walk 18 holes, use specialized equipment, and it requires a high degree of skill...
This is almost as condescending and presumptuous as the people that say those who don't like soccer just don't understand it. I have played golf quite a bit, and I am in horrible shape, but it was never that physically challenging for me. Playing a couple of games of full court basketball or a single game of tackle football was much tougher. I have to agree with the not a sport crowd. Billiards requires skill, concentration, and walking, and a single mistake can ruin a whole tournament for you, but I wouldn't say that was a sport either. Except for the walking, the same could be said about chess, or the Madden Challenge.
