I wouldn't worry about that, especially at a municipal course where you don't have to impress people. Everyone is out there to have a good time and there's no pressure that you'd find at a country club

I remember you asking about that. If I take it seriously I may get one too.

Well, I play at a country club...maybe I do some rounds at the municipal courses first.

There are no shortcuts. Lessons and lots of time on the range is what is needed. Some people have more natural talent for the sport than others and will progress faster. Some people, even with lessons and practice, will never be any good at all.

Golf is much easier to learn as a child. Children don’t get embarrassed by bad shots, so they are less likely to give up on the game in the early stages. Children also seem to be natural mimics, so they can watch and then copy a good golfers swing.

Many instructors offer group lessons and clinics for beginners. It’s a good way save money and you are around other people at the same skill level.

Haha, exactly. I'm more comfortable embarrassing myself in anonymity at the muni before I raise the stakes at a club

So true. My daughter is 7 and already hitting some bombs. Getting lessons once a week at the country club. My 4 year old son is not interested yet. Only wants the iPad and wants to read (started reading at 3). Hopefully he won't become a fat lazy bum.
