Apparently it's not as happy a situation as it might seem: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...n-nelson-stephen-jackson-argue-at-shootaround The Warriors are rebuilding and would love cap relief, which is why you offer them T-Mac's expiring contract. You might not get all the pieces you want, but you'll probably get 2 out of 3. I would take Jackson, Randolph, and Crawford or Jackson, Brandon Wright, and Crawford.
Given that Captain Jack was the other player who ran into the stands during the melee in Detroit, there is no way the Rockets Management are going to bring him onto our team while Artest is still here. It's too bad - as a player, he actually wouldn't be a bad fit on this roster. I have no interest in any other player on the Warriors.
While Jack's actions in that sorry episode are understated by the media, he has pulled himself together nicely since the brawl. He's a talented and versatile player but could he go to another team and play for a coach who would hold him accountable? Nobody else in the NBA (besides maybe D'Antoni) is going to allow him to "jack" up 3s with no regard to human life. If Jack played under control on offense, he would be a very effective rotation player any team could use. He can't stop top notch players like Kobe or Roy, but he can fluster hot players and take them out of their game. Plus he is clutch. But he's overpaid.
they're all so young when they play with nothing to lose, like they did against the Jazz, they are an astonishingly good, energetic team
Do you really think he's overpaid for what he brings to the table? http://hoopshype.com/salaries/golden_state.htm He has 4 years left on his deal after this season and the contract averages to about $8.8 million a year. I think that's very reasonable for a player of his caliber.
Good point. For some reason, I thought he made more than that. Then my only concern with Jack is playing disciplined on offense because he takes too many stupid shots.
