That would be an awesome team. At every position you would have one guy who is very good offensively and one who is very good defensively, and at some positions you would have guys who can do it all.

I realize I am posting too much in this thread, but I have to say something regarding Thanos' last post-

    LOL!

Let me try this again ...

Has anyone actually seen Antawn play small forward? Can he guard the KGs and Shareefs of the league?

He sure as hell would be an improvement over Walt´s nonexistent defensive skills.

And he rebounds like a madman for an sf.

Just imagine this team with mutumbo in the middle.

we could compete with ANY team out there, period!

Actually, this just came to me:

Foyle plus the 4.5 mil exception works for mutumbo? Just wondering.

Nobody can guard Shareef and KG. The Rockets need to assemble superior athletes who can score, and then teach them how to play team defense.

Can Francis, Anderson, Taylor, Jameson, and Dream help eachother by doubling and rotating at the correct times? I say yes.

Can anyone guard those guys night in and night out?

His first game against Vancouver last year, Shareef did well, however when he first played Minnesota, he helped KG cough up 8 turnovers.

One thing though, his free throw skills could use a little work.

If indeed it is Cato we are talking about, I think we should make extremely sure that this is what we want. However when you take a step back and look at the deal what we are basically doing, is trading Scottie Pippen for Antawn Jamison. Which is a pretty good trade in my estimation.

My only unsure point is the center position. (As a Rockets fan I never thought I would be saying that) I am highly skeptical of Dampier's abilities. However I was skeptical of the Dickerson-Francis deal too and that worked out for us. So when all is said and done, I say. . . . PULL THE TRIGGER

Good point. OK, so let's assume Antawn has the athleticism to contribute to a successful team defensive scheme.

Can he take his man off the dribble? How's his 15-20 foot jumper? How is he in transition? (I'm asking these questions because I don't know the answer, not to be obnixious.) Remember, we're trying to become a running team, and I'd hate for us to end up with two back-to-the-basket guys in Mo and Antawn ...

Actually, Dampier´s carrer stats are not bad at all.

I remeber having him on my fantasy team during a strech last season, and he was averaging 10+ rebounds when getting the minutes.

This deal sounds like a steal if you ask me.

These stats do look pretty bad to me. I still like the deal because of Jamison. Teach him free-throw shooting and some three-point shooting and shotblocking and you have a really well-rounded player at the SF position. Remember, this guy was the first option on a team with Vince Carter.

I think the great thing about Mo and Jameson is what both guys have in common. They both can play in an up tempo game, or a half court set. They both can play two positions. They are both young and can improve.

The only glaring negative I see is Jameson's jumpshot.

We would have so many potential superstars on this team that we would be like the blazers if they had a fountain of youth at their disposal.

Man, i really really wish this trade happens.

I´m actually so excited that i´m unable to actually think about this, so excuse the fanboy babbling for a while.

I shall return to my normal self sometime in the future.

If you want a scouting report on Antawn Jamison, I can tell you that about a year ago he couldn't hit a jumpshot to save his life. He is improving, however. Before anyone labels me a hypocrite for being pro-Jamison and anti-Taylor, let me say that the reason I have no worries about Jamison is that there isn't a man in the NBA who works on his game harder than Antawn. He wants to be the best player he can be, and he brings an excellent, excellent attitude to the table. He's an excellent rebounder, can run the floor, and of course can post up (player of the year at North Carolina). As I said before, his weakness is jump shooting, and he is an average defender. Don't worry about that though, because I can guarantee you that guy works on improving every aspect of his game. This is a guy you want to pair with Francis.

EVERY article I have read has stated that Jamison is the FRANCHISE player at Golden State. Just recently, all there publicity was for how hard he is working (like Cat said) and how excited they are to have him lead the team. That he loves it there and that they see him being a superstar.

I REALLY hope this is true and the fact that Pops has posted it is the only reason I am evening considering it MIGHT be:)

However...that would be THE worst trade in the history of Golden State. (And that is saying something!) They get NOTHING basically ...and lose a potential superstar.
Look at his stats before he was injured, he was almost 20 and 10.

The best part if this trade happens is that Antawn can lure Vince Carter here! I say sign and trade Mo Taylor (next year) to Raptors for Vince! Then, put 'Twan at PF! Imagine:

    Cato, Dampier
    Jamison, Thomas, Miller
    Carter, Langhi
    Anderson, Mobley
    Francis, Norris

Yeah! DON'T TRADE CATO! HE'S GOING TO BE VERY SPECIAL!
