I'm confused as to how the Warriors can even offer/afford that kind of extension to Barnes.

Klay is making max, Green is at a max, Bogus and Iggy have 12M contracts each. Thank goodness they signed Curry to a value 12 million dollar contract but he will also get the super max in 2 years.

They have 5 guys making 12 million or more this season.

 

Klay's and Green's max are not supermax and they won't be even near max soon. And 12M will be the right price for a starter even cheap in many cases.
this 4/64 isn't near max either.
