    NIKE,

A draft day trade seems the most likely, but it would have to start with $3.3m in trades (Moochie, anyone?)...or we start discussing packaging Jamison with another GS player to get him in Rice's salary territory. Sura or Mills seems more likely from their standpoint. Since those are distasteful to us, where are we going here. They probably want to drop salary worse than us. Why would they give us the #3 and Jamison and take Rice off our hands, just for a point guard??? They think they can win with Jay and Jason and a defensive front line??

Jamison is BYC on July 1st.

There is little chance for us to trade for Jamison after July 1st without a 3rd team involved that has cap room or a very large trade exception.

incidentally: we have no BYC players since we fell below the cap last year, and Moochie signed while we were below it.

talentwise this is a good trade. But I just don't think AJ fits in with this team. The only thing he would bring is rebounding. The last thing we need is another 20ppg guy who needs the ball. Rockets need size, defense, and rebounding. One out of 3 isn't good enough, esp with a 7 year max contract.

And Marion is a helluva lot better than AJ. Marion is a monster on d. How about comparing him to LJ before the bad back? :)

Wouldn't mind trading Jamison somewhere else in a 3 way ... say to the Wiz? Would they flip Kwame for him? Kwame + the #3 would rawk. Assuming China trip doesn't work out of course.

Well, Hughes is a restricted free agent, and I wouldn't really want him anyway.

But, the Chronicle had a blurb today with Richard Jefferson talking about the trade. The article said that if we hadn't traded our picks, we would've taken Troy Murphy, not Jefferson at 13. Murphy can rebound and shoot and is pretty hard nosed, so there would be some interest. I think the other player we'd talk about is Adonal Foyle, who makes about 4.5 mill, putting him/Jamison a little outside of Mo's range, but with a throwin like Collier, making it pretty close (I don't have the exact numbers in front of me.)

Weren't the Warriors interested in Moochie this past summer?

PS-Do you think Griffin/Jamison could handle playing as a pseudo-3/4 combo like Griffin/Thomas, or like Griffin/Taylor were allegedly going to do?

Absolutely...handle it better IMO...Jamison proved he could man the 4 when Fortson was injured and Eddie is certainly athletic enough to play the 3.

I would do this in a heartbeat, too. Yall do remember jamison had 2 50 pt games back to back. That guy is just tired of losing. I bet if he found out he was coming to the Rockets his spirits would be lifted.

Yes, they do. He's been in constant contact with the CBA, and was quite pissed about the false reports coming out of the Mavs camp when recently interviewed.

He's gained approval from the Chinese authorities to allow him to train in LA, play in the summer leagues, and meet up with the national team in Indianapolis at the World Championships.

If Mr. Marioti had researched the issue, instead of rephrasing unsubstantiated reports from other news outlets, he'd have known too.

Just felt like saying that this trade sucks...
    Jamison can't play the 3, he's a tweener 4, we don't need another 4
His contract is ridiculous, the Rockets are hopefully not that stupid
GS screwed us over so I don't think we'd likely deal with them

Even though I'm slightly anti-Ming, I'd rather take the risk on him then get an overpaid player that doesn't even fill one of our needs

    Please trade the #1 for Curry/Chandler and #2, THAT's a good trade

Do you think that Golden State would agree to the number 1 for number 3 and next year's first round pick UNPROTECTED? I doubt that they would fall for it, but it would leave us with a chance for Lebron James next year, and remember we don't have a first round pick next year.

If we are going to trade the #1 this is probably our best bet. Jamison gives a low post presence and rebounds, and with the #3 they could still get Jr. or Butler. Now the problem would be what to do with Taylor, Kt etc. I think we would see alot of minutes with 3 forwords on the floor with AJ EG and either Jr or Butler. I don't know if it would work, but we defenitly would be getting more talent in return with that trade more so than the Clippers deal(odom and the 8) imo.

Exactly, barbourdg has it down. That would definitly be the best option for the Rocks. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to trade Jamison for a somewhat good pick or center and then don't forget we have the #15.

I like Jamison, but this is not the deal I think we need. He may be an upgrade at the 4 (undersized, though) but we don't need another primary scorer. I don't think we move this pick without picking up either an allstar at the 3 and/or 5 spot, or getting a franchise player.

Golden State is in our doghouse, anyway. I doubt we're even returning their calls after last summer's fiasco.

    Screw Golden State!!!

I Completely agree with this statment. Wasn't this guy also the #1 or #2 pick from 4 years ago and traded for Vince Carter? Furthermore, If we get Jamison he can help us RIGHT AWAY. I'm sick of losing, not getting any national exposure, and being in the lottery. It will take Ming atleast a good 3-4 Years to get a grasp in the NBA. No more of this next year crap for me.

This may be a reach but if we do this trade and Gs takes jay williams at #1 and chicago realizes that because of curry there is no need for Ming and take Dunleavy, we may end up getting both Jamison and Ming now that would really be a dream come true, but Krause will probably take him just to spoil our plans like he did 2 yrs ago when he took fizer to break up a potential trade even though Fizer had no place in Chicago

So basically you want to trade our #1 and #15 for Spree and the #3. I think I am going to puke :(

Why would you package the 15 with Jamison for Spree? Jamison is just as good as Spree if not better.

don't worry crash...that trade isn't close to working since Jamison's salary is only $3.38m.

No. People are saying it wouldn't be a bad trade if we couldn't get Ming.

Lots of people want Eddie to play the 3, but I haven't seen him do ANYTHING from the perimeter except shot 34% from three point range.
