    wtf was Larry Bird thinking???

Harrington and Jackson for a bunch of scrubs??

    what are they doing??

this is terrible for us at least. I had GS off the list of "playoffs contenders" and I had us at the 8th spot even if we sucked for the rest of the season (hopefully we wont).. but I am afraid GS will make a little run.. wth is wrong with the eastern conference? the western conference totally owns the east! what a stupid trade! the Pacers are my 3rd fav team after the Rockets and the Nets. and I am sorry to say that they got owned really bad..

What bunch of scrubs? Troy Murphy will be double-double machine like he was in past years for the Pacers. Mike Dunleavy is a very smart decision maker unlike Tinsely and he can shoot. Given playing time, Ike Diogu
is a very solid player who can flat out put up some points.

not a great deal for the pacers, only because of cap reasons. they take back two huge deals.

however, murphy and dunleavy are much better fits next to a low post player like o'neal. they should see a short term improvement, while waiting on a long term one (diogu).

Wow, midseason rotation shakeup for both teams.

The Warriors might sneak into the last playoffs spot. The Pacers look like a 1st round and out team.

Pacers had to get rid of Jackson because he's too much of a cancer, they had to part with Harrington and take on the bad contracts of Murphy (good player but too big a contract) and Dunleavy (bad player, bad contract) to do it. On the plus side they get to try out Diago.

Not sure this trade helps or hurts either team much, but Indiana is taking on some huge contracts.

Two crappy teams shuffling the cards.

G.S. gets out from bad contracts and actually gets some talent in return while Indiana receives two guys that should flourish there.

I like this deal for both sides, but neither one is going anywhere....ever.

murphy might flourish in indiana's set offense, harrington might flourish in the up and down style of nelson. other than that, uuhh

I think Golden State made out like bandits just so Larry Bird can try to find the next Larry Bird. Ethenic cleansing at its best.

    Dear Eastern Conference,

Please continue to send players with bloated contracts to every other team in the West next to the Rockets. Thank you.

    Predictions:

Dunleavy blows up in Indiana. Harrington's statistics go up at Golden State but he's a paper tiger because he can't defend West PFs. Murphy blows up with the long ball off the O'neal post ups.

Jackson fades as he is playing for a free wheeling low discipline coach and they aren't winning enough.

Golden State saved a ton of money but lost a ton of basketball character. Indiana had to spend some money but they got rid of trouble and bought character. In the long run, they will be better and Nelson will continue to run a freak show out there and eventually have to turn it over to somebody else because they get poohed on come playoff time after running up the scoreboard in the regular season. Nelson wouldn't know what defense was if it slapped him in the noggin.

Don't be surprised of Jax gets a drug suspension.

indy doesnt have james white anymore, they waived him @ beginning of season so that depth chart is slightly off

spurs picked up james white and sent him to dleague

I'm confused. If Bird wanted the team to get whiter, wouldn't he keep White?

this trade clearly benefits GS. they got rid of the terrible murphy and dunlevy contracts and they shortened the length of the massive contract they were paying by getting jackson and harrington. i think the talent levels are about equal but financially GS saves like 25 million...is that about right?

I'll be interested to hear PacerTom's opinion on this deal. Where are you at, Tom?

I'd also be interested to hear Warrior.... Oh right. The Warriors don't have any fans.

I'm from the bay, and the warriors do have a lot of fans, their arena attendance is probably better then the rockets.

Ne ways, when word of the trade came out, everybody for the warriors rejoiced. They traded away two players nicknamed "soft" and "suck" along with their monster contracts. They received in Harrington a low post threat, so they can have a semblance of a half court game(not that it matters, since the guards don't pass it into the post much). Id say warriors fans are split on Diogu, but he wasn't going to play since he was in nellys doghouse. Everybody thought the warriors were stuck with murphy and dunleavy due to their contracts, so you can imagine how they reacted when they heard the warriors got rid both of them in the same trade. Theyre the oppisite of the rocket, who have too many guards and warriors have too little, so getting the euro guy and stephen jackson was a plus(in the short run). For any pacer fans, who expect great things from their newest acquisitions, dont because you guys got some lemons.
