I’m just now catching up on the reaction to this news. It’s pretty deflating. Really there’s no point in watching this season unless you’re a fan of a young team who will get plenty of time to develop. We are watching James Harden’s prime be wasted because of a greedy Players Association, a one-year infusion of cash and Kevin Durant being a gigantic baby.

I can only imagine the phone calls from the 29 other teams going to league headquarters tonight. If this were a trade, I’d be 100% in favor of Basketball Reasons 2.0. But, because it’s free agency, the league is powerless to stop this.

Before Durant, the Warriors were ridiculous but beatable, as the Cavs showed.

With Durant, GS became even more ridiculous, but they had weaknesses that a talented and offensively potent opponent could take advantage of. They were still beatable in the playoffs. The Rockets last season were that opponent and if it weren't for CP3's hammy they would've successfully finished off Golden State.

Now with the Cousins signing...the Warriors are nearly invincible once he gets healthy. Their chemistry may take a slight hit, but with that much talent, it doesn't matter. They will steamroll everybody in the playoffs...I give them a good shot to go 16-0.

The only way any other team has a chance to defeat GS in the playoffs is if 2 or 3 key Warriors players have major injuries.

I'm with those that feel that there's little or no point in watching the NBA next season (and possibly beyond). This "Monstars" trend may be bad for the league business-wise in the long run.

 

After players get their first big contract, they should take a 80% paycut and play with 4 other all-stars.

I hate how this is the way this league is going.

Is it took late for Rockets to blow it up? **** this is bullshit.

40 mil for cp3 who has missed games in 3 of the last 4 playoffs

This is the best thing the NBA could hope for, the Golden Skinned Warriors getting more darkies to set illegal picks for the 30 year old cartoon character. Stephen Curry will surpass MJ when it comes to marketing and new fans this will add to the league.
