This is a team of one of the best players in the NBA... ...we need JVG to teach them some defense principles.
i can't ever remember being more disappointed in a team than this half. if we weren't 8/12 on 3's and only missed 1 ft and wade wasn't playing out of his mind, we'd be losing because we refuse to play D. deron williams backcourt and playing like crap, prince doing nothing and sucking on D and committing stupid fouls. horrible horrible concentration from this team.
LOL Some of the posters here complained about the referees are bigger whiners than the spanish players
spain is scoring at will on pnr's, rudy fernandez is putting on and1 dribbling exhibitions for half the shotclock before hitting pull up 3's, we turn it over or commit a backcourt violation or get in the penalty 4 minutes into the quarter whenever we feel like. we're going to cool down, but unfortunately spain isn't going to with the D we are playing. we've played incredible defense all tourney long and just decided not to show up in this game, amazing. if they throw away the gold in a game where they are on pace for 138 at halftime, i'll friggin' throw up. and then probably kill myself.
That Spanish dude took a page out of The Bruce Bowen Guide to Defense. Wade almost went off and I don't blame him. That was an ignorant ass under cut attempt. I don't know what would have happened if Wade got hurt.
wade is ridiculous. they need to put someone better on him than that bald-headed guy. do they know how quick wade is? he's keeping us afloat.
everyone thinks making team USA miss 3's is how you beat them. you don't. you beat team USA by turning our D into a sieve. and that's what has been done here. unfortunately, once it gets going that way, it's hard to turn it around in a game. if deron williams doesn't pull his head out, we don't stop throwing the ball away on easy plays, and we don't stop fouling like crazy and giving up 3's, this is going down to the wire. and the massive favorite with all the pressure doesn't want the game going down to the wire.
Spain tried to play it off before the game like they were happy to get silver. They've been waiting the whole tournament for this game hoping they could turn it up on us and catch us by surprise. Honestly, they've done a pretty good job so far. I hope we crush em in the 2nd half.
