Only thing I have to say about this game is: The NBA needs to sell the rights of the games back to NBC. That intro music and plus the production. Don't know what it was, but it just felt right.
"Even if I did"??? Of course you did jerkoff Did someone hijack your account? Or maybe you have short attention span. Well here I agree with you. Let's see NBA players: Nowitzki, Ginobili, Nocioni, Scola, Gasol, Calderon, Oberto, Ming, etc. etc. They aren't much better than the top international teams. Especially Spain, they have 7 players who have or will play in the NBA and have been playing as a team longer than the US national team and they still can't beat them. Maybe next time the US should spot them 15 points at the beginning of the game so it can be closer. Hell, maybe they'll even win. Do you really believe they came to Beijing thinking it was going to be a cake walk?? I mean are you some kind of kreskin?? They did dominate or do you not watch until the medal rounds? Let me see, oh yeah they didn't dominate the last game therefore they suck No one is denying that other international teams are good but good enough to beat the US on a consistent basis if at all. Yeah whatever. You're right, they should be ashamed. In fact I hope they do the right thing and give the medals back. In fact it should be mandatory that in order for the US to truly deserve the gold medals that they have to win every game by 30 points or more. Anything less is pathetic and a disgrace. Dude why don't you get the stick out of your *** and be happy for them. Geez, you'd complain if they hung you with a velvet rope. You should just go and support the other top international teams so if they ever win an olympic medal again you can say "see I told you so". And your POV is more POS. Don't like it? Tough **** moron!
I didn't say they were equal in talent in fact I said the Dream Team posts were far superior but if you think Lebron isn't every bit as good as Barkley, Pippen, and Bird then you have not watched him play. Plus, the 1992 Bird wasn't anywhere near the player he was in the 80's. He had all kinds of back problems back then. A 2008 Lebron would shred a 1992 Larry Bird.
You really are not bright? You do understand that there are NBA players on international teams? You do understand that the USA had an average winning margin of over 25 points per game? To put this in perspective, this would be like North Carolina walking through the ACC and NCAA tournament beating every team by 30 to get to the final four. Then having an off game during the final four and winning by 20 only to follow it up by facing the #2 team in the nation who they beat in the ACC finals by 30. Getting the #2 teams best game and still beating them by double digits. It would be the greatest thing in NCAA history. For you to act like what they did was no big deal or something they should be ashamed of is pathetic. How many other NBA players did the dream team face? Heck, how many future NBA players did they face? The Redeem team was facing teams with All NBA talent on them. So the fact is the best the United States has to offer is still much better than the world at large. To reflect the difference between the NBA today and the NBA in 1992, you would have to add Pau, Yao, Dirk, and Manu to team USA.
No, to put things in perspective, remember when we got Artest and how everyone said we should at least 60+ games? News flash, this team has 10 Artests on steroids. This is not North Carolina in NCAA, this is North Carolina playing against high school teams. Most teams had 1-2 NBA players max, with Spain having more NBA players than the rest but most of them are supposedly NBA scrubs. Seriously? we are talking about NBA hall of famers in their PRIME here barely holding their own against teams of NBA misfits. I mean if you guys are proud of our performance and feel that a team with elite players barely winning against team with a 17 year old PG, fine. I just beg to differ.
OOOK, if you still don't get my point, lets see, are you comparing these spanish players to the absolute best in the NBA? What the? You using all these players name is only making my point. This NBA team has players that are better than all of these players in their respective position (with the exception of probably Yao). Think about it for a moment, ON ONE TEAM. Unless you read at a second grade level, I said TOP TEAMS. They didnt dominate any top teams, Argentina and Spain both gave them a run for their money even with so called NBA scrubs. If you have this amount of talent on one team and still get a scare from a bunch of NBA misfits with a 17 yr old PG, you better don't act as you just conquered Mount Everest on bare foot. hmm last 8 years is not consistent enough??? wtf?

I am happy we won gold, but do I think its a big achievement as everyone is making out to be? heck no. These are all future Hall of famers in their prime against a team with 17 yr old PG and other than Gasol, bunch of NBA scrubs. Had Phelps won 3 Golds instead of 8, shouldn't we have been happy for him?? Sure! but would it have been disappointing? Heck yea. He didn't perform to his abilities. That's how I feel about this team. If you want to twist my words and make it convenient for you to make your r****ded point, go ahead. Just because you come out shouting I love my country like Bill O'Reilly, doesn't make you sound any smarter, you will still be someone with a third grade reading comprehension level imbecile.
They murdered Spain by 37 points the first time. The second time they only won by 11 after Spain played as well as they could possibly play. Argentina's major accomplishment was to be within 4 points during the second period on their way to losing by 20. Greece was down by double digits early and never came close to closing the gap in another blowout. Not sure what else you want.
Team USA won every game by an average of almost 30 points per game. They won this last game by 11 and beat them the previous time by 30. How's that barely winning? They beat Argentina by 20. Barely winning? Seriously now, this is not a video game son. Those are all professionals out there.
Meaningless round 1 game. And anyone who thinks Argentina and Spain games were not close was not watching the game. The fact is with our talent we didn't dominate. We are talking about NBA future hall of famers against 17 yr old PG and NBA scrubs. I am disappointed, nothing to do with how you are full of pride are about this team. To each their own. Deal with it. End of story.
Look if you think the end result of 11 point margin meant it wasn't close you obviously watching the game son. Those are all professionals? wow yea that should do it.
if you hate watching USA basketball, then why do you watch it? if you are not happy with the product then go file a protest, go to new york and stand in front of the NBA building and scream at them like you are a pro-life protester. you can go to gamestop to and tell the people who buy xboxes that the ps3 can play bluray and scream at them too. rookies..
Meaningless as long as they won by 37. Otherwise I have no doubt that many would have derived lots of meaning from it otherwise. Stop being such a wet blanket. You do know that Pau Gasol is an allstar NBA player, a player who puts up huge numbers under the FIBA rule set at every competition he plays in, and when all is said in done, likely to be an HOF player when he retires right? And that his supporting cast is loaded with a combination of first round draft picks and NBA veterans, many of whom have been playing together in the same system under FIBA rules since LeBron was in high school, right? And that this team lost by 37 and 11 in the span of a week, right? Anyway if this performance wasn't dominating enough, other than the original dream team, please find me a team in international competition that had as dominating a performance over as deep a field of talent. Thanks very much in advance.
Hmm hey O'Reilly get off your high horse. How can you be a true fan when you hate to see so many "new" fans join the team? You are an idiot, now get lost.
As deep a talent pool? NBA veterans? huh? Other than Gasol who else? Calderon and Manu didn't even play in the medal rounds. Again, to each their own. You are happy with the performance, great. I personally think everyone's reaction to the gold is way overboard considering the team we had and the competition we played against.
owned who? i think you're the one who lives with your mommy. i guess you love this rookie status. get use to it forever!
lol.. yea talking about who lives with mommy, coming from a guy who thinks that the "status" here is valuable. Anyways tells me a lot about how valuable the status here is when r****ds like you are considered contributing member, lmao... the only thing you contribute is to alienate new members who joins this board, lmao... Now take your idiotic status and go sell it on ebay.
