Major and I are heading to Vegas this weekend and I'm looking for some good locks for placing some bets this weekend. Right now, the only one I can think of is Atlanta, -3.5, at Carolina. I'm also intrigued by New Orleans giving up 6 at home against the Browns. The Texans game does too, but I'm not sure I want to bet against one of my teams. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of betting on six games or so.
If there is a line on whether Hootie Johnson will allow a woman member by year's end..bet against it... ...just kidding I love the Ravens BTW...make sure you hit the Hard Rock Casino Bar at least one night....more talent there than the 1992 Cowboys
"Always go with the Saints, of course, Rocketman95. Can't wait to see you this weekend! Look, I'm already wearing my Vegas party outfit. Toodle-oo!"
Will do. My sister and brother in-law, who are also going, love that place. Aren't the Ravens +3 (or around there) against Tennessee? I think the Jacksonville game (-2 @ Dallas) will be one of mine too. Also, how would you go about this? Would y'all do some single game bets, parlays, or what? I'm a Vegas virgin.
As a former bookie in college...I can assure you that, while betting is always a losing proposition, a straight bet is the way to go...all others are sucker bets..including the dreaded teasers
Okay, my sick mission accomplished, I'll leave you alone. Have an excellent time in Vegas. My advice: come up with a black-jack algorithm, stick to it through thick and thin, and make some money. Seriously.
Cool, thanks. What about over/unders? I normally hate those, but if any stand out to anyone, I'd appreciate the info.
Blackjack's the only game I'll play. I've only gambled once and ended up breaking even (of course, that included a 3 hand binge after UT won the national championship in baseball, or I'd been down about $150 or so).
over/unders are great! watch for late weather reports at open stadiums. rain/snow slows down the game.
From personal experience I can tell you that there are no SURE THINGS in the NFL anymore. On any given day any team can beat any other team. Choose wisely RM95. Have fun. I love Vegas.
RM...here's what you do (if you have the time)... Wait until about an hour before the game (maybe 1 1/2 hrs) and watch the lines (in fact, watch the lines in the paper during the week and see if anything moves significantly)...they will move occasionally depending on how much is bet... If you are looking at the Giants-Texans line and it is 6 on Saturday night...then you wake up the next day and its at 8..that means that the "smart" money or "insider" money came in big on the Giants and they would be a good play. Also..as for over/unders, look at weather forecasts on Sunday morning...usually the "smart" money comes in very late on these because the weather is so unpredictable and an over/under that is sitting at 42 will go to 38 by game time if a snow storm looks imminent.
Also...if you place an "under" bet at 42...and the line moves a few points because of weather..say to 38 or 39...then you can bet the "over" at 38 or 39 and try to catch a middle.
Paris is nice! i stayed at the monte carlo last time i was there...the hotels are just amazing...Caesar's Palace is fantastic! I would love to see a boxing match out there someday.
I'm very excited. Any shows or anything anyone can recommend? What about cheap all you can eats? We almost didn't get to go because of unethical and r****ded divorce lawyers.
