I go by myself more than with other people. I'm not a big movie watcher though. Just don't have time & patience to recruit & convince others. I used to have nothing BUT party pooper listless friends, so I stopped investing in "need company" altogether lol

A coworker of mine regularly watches movies before picking up his wife because she works irregular longer hours. A perfect excuse to do solo movies.

You must be joking. I can't stand Trump. Harlingen was okay. I like Latinos, even speak Spanish. But culturally and the rest I was different. The loner (the white guy who moved down there for a job) stands out in a very family-oriented culture.

    "Trump supporter." Jeez.

I used to go to the Village Theater solo all the time. The Rice Village hasn't been the same, since they closed. Now I have to get my solo fix at theaters along 225.

I was brought up by a movie junkie. My father took us to a drive-in at least once a week, and to a local theater or one of the beautiful Art Deco screens downtown on the weekend. We had chili dogs at the original James Coney Island after the movie. I always had a bag of chips and an RC Cola with my 2 or 3 dogs. The tables were those old style wooden chairs with the built-in desktop that wrapped around, a couple of dozen, maybe. Those remain the best chili dogs I've ever had. The joints around now with the James Coney Island name are an insult to chili dogs everywhere.

Anyway, I don't hesitate to see a film alone. I generally go alone to see the latest Star Trek or Star Wars flick at midnight for the first showing, reserving tickets long before at a place like Alamo Drafthouse. Action movies are more fun if you have someone to watch them with, I think, but if there's something I want to see and no one else will go, heck, I just go. I enjoy eating alone if I have a book or my e-reader, but if I don't have anything to read, I'll go find something somewhere and then go eat. Enough of this noise.

Hey! My plumbing works fine. I'm not religious, but if I were, I would declare, "God Bless Viagra!"

I am single. Going to a movie on a date is counter-productive. There are the very rare occasions these days where I'll go with a friend, but typically if I feel I must see a movie in the Theater it is either by myself or with some broad I know.

Honestly, I have a 37 inch Computer Monitor and a 60 inch TV. As long as I'm patient, I get a quality movie experience at home. Watched "Olympus has Fallen" this morning. Pure cheesy action fun.

That was aimed at Os and Buck. I am a fan of Viagra, though.

I went to see the "Solo" movie solo. It was so low, almost embarassing. I sat so low in my seat.

    Solo.

Had a girlfriend in 2009 from Australia. Got a Viagra pill from a friend. Thought we'd have a nice send-off because she would be back in Perth for 6 weeks.

She tells me she's tired and goes to bed... 12 hours of a weird boner.

What can I tell you, except that modern science is a strange thing. How you ended up that way for 12 hours is a mystery you will have to solve yourself.

From my experience, it only adds to the situation. Girl goes to sleep? Trying to be a gentleman? It acts oddly in that scenario...

It's weird to go to Art house movies with a group.

Going to the movies by yourself is supposed to be some big deal now? Does anyone really care if someone goes to see a movie by themself?

If I see somebody doing that I think absolutely nothing of it.

I don't really get the point of going to the movies with someone unless of course your significant other wants to come.

If there were better movies out, I would go alone for sure. I just haven't gone to the movies in a long time. Last one was wonder woman at iPix.

12 hours is enough time to do some permanent damage.

Anyways, once I was at a movie with a buddy of mine and some kids behind us hit me with popcorn like three times. He one was clearly trying to impress a girl. I got up, turned around and nailed him with a sour patch kid right in the xhest.

Watched the rest of the movie in peace. Waited for him afterwards but he didn't want none.

    I'm a movie theater hardass.

Think it depends on the movie. Some movie you want to see with a friend, some with a group of friends and some by yourself.

I don’t go to the movies much, but I can recall going to a movie by myself once. It was in the middle of the day, and I needed time to burn because I was picking up someone from work.

I've gone solo plenty of times. Not one time did anyone give me odd looks or anything. Not the ticket booth person, not the people who take your food/drink order, not any other patron. Nobody. People either didn't notice or didn't care.

That said, I've only gone to the movie theater like 4 or 5 times over the past 5 years. I have a decent home theater setup in my living room and for most movies I'm good with waiting a bit until it hits Vudu or Netflix (or not waiting if I'm willing to take a more legally questionable route to get it sooner). Very few movies these days are truly worth going to the theater to see...and even then it's only the Alamo Drafthouse or Flix Brewhouse.
