If you lived in nyc and had to deal with these guys banging druns and yelling stupid things for 12 straight hours outside some bank that has chinese people on their board of directors then you would understand the annoyance. Goto the embassy and protest, stop making life miserable for people who have nothing to do with it. Why not protest the dollar stores also for havig made in china products?
Heading back to halls now, the talk just finished and I managed to get a question for the Dalai Lama. Will upload pics and a video once I get to a computer!
Hi clutchfans, here's my review of the Dalai Lama's talk today: 1) He was late to it (by 20 minutes actually), apparently even the Dalai Lama can be stopped by London traffic. 2) Had a stupid jug of water in front of him, basically meant most of my pics was of him with a jug of water replacing his head 3) was wearing some pretty nice leather shoes For the talk itself: I didn't find him that hard to understand, he had a translator who would do some individual words here and there but by and large he could do it fine by himself. He talked a lot about morality, being a moral person and not cheating, lying, or doing anything immoral. He basically espoused the Buddhist way of thinking, and kept saying that 'everybody's goal is a happy life', and that all human beings are the same (and that differences are minuscule and unimportant). That everybody should be tolerant and at peace with each other. He had a nice answer to when somebody asked about religious tolerance in India, and said it was contradictory to worship a god but ask for corruption at the same time, and that 'you might as well worship money'. And anyway, here are the pictures. I managed to get front row seats but as I said, that stupid jug of water... oh and here, he was answering my question I asked him about his personal opinion about the Chinese government, which can be seen in this video (unfortunately the audio was terrible, so you might have a hard time listening to it) but he basically said that censorship is immoral and that 1.3 billion people should have better rules of law, better government etc. http://youtu.be/Xa9QxkeVo3U overall: pretty frigging awesome
