I'm sorry that you can't see a difference between performing a legally controlled act and illegally raising animals to kill, starving them, torturing them, electrocuting them, etc. plus violating interstate commerce laws, etc. Also, I want to agree with the person who said I want this woman out of the national spotlight. Stay in Alaska and play peekaboo with the Russians. Until she wants to do Playboy, I don't want to hear about her.
Jonathon? (and all this furor over plagerising a bumper sticker from year's gone by? Thomas Swift would shake his head in disbelief....).
Why don't you just get with the times and stop being a republican? Then you won't have to worry about these uneducated morons any longer. I'd cringe if I felt the urge to type we when referring to some of these embarassments.
Well I personally would like to see great oratory return to our political discourse but I agree that we should value substance over style. With Palin though I have a problem getting to her substance partly because of her style. I don't think she does a good job of explaining her positions or even why she should be considered a leader.
Apology not accepted. I could give two ****s about Sarah Palin shooting Elk out in the Alaskan Wilderness. What I'd be more concerned about is her apparent stupidity. Something about the Religious Right and apparent stupidity go together like Lamb and Tunafish.
is there a chance she splits off and tries to do a third party thing? that's the vibe she's been putting off lately. i mean, she has to know that she won't beat obama in a head to head match up, right? she could be the conservative party candidate, standing up to the special interests of both the dems and republicans - i mean, how fabulously rogueish would that be? (please happen)
I hope she does. No faster way to obscurity than becoming a third party candidate. Finals, I think you should write her to encourage her take this step. End your letter with Dontcha know?
It's ok to disagree with the president and hope the other party puts up a better option. I like Obama...I'll vote for him again in all likelihood. I think he inherited an absolute crap storm. But not everyone sees it like I do...and I can certainly understand wanting a better option than Palin. It makes me very nervous that she has been as close to that kind of power as she already has been.
I seriously doubt it. That would take a lot of hard work. I suspect she is campaigning for lasting celebrity and not president, though a presidential run may be part of that strategy.
Stammering because you don't know and stammering because you're not a good public speaker are two different things entirely...
Some people are attached to ferrets, some people love lizards, some people would protect a potted plant or a certain family heirloom with their lives. That doesn't mean it is contradictory for them to value one equal entity above another. The Cultural Differences argument states that what is morally dubious in other culture can be perceived as permissable in another. But this argument is a fallacy for basing assumptions of absolute moral truths upon, because it is based on assumptions and personal preferences rather than actual "right" and "wrong". Its a matter of opinion, and matters of opinion are not a good basis for moral truth. That being said, Emotional attachment and a taste for meat are not mutually exclusive. Is it hypocritical to own a dog you'd protect at all costs, but then go into out to Burger King and order a Dogburger? You can love your own dog and eat another dog because there is nothing that compels you to live your life by some code that all dogs should be treated equally and that you should fight to defend the life of every dog just because you happen to claim "ownership" of another dog. It really isn't a matter of fairness and equality, its a matter of personal opinion.
