So you don't think there's much of a difference between legally hunting and shooting an animal that you intend to eat and running an illegal gambling operation combined with torturing and execution of household pets?

hmmm, i'm thinking more along the lines of, why is inflicting torture upon one species of animal against the law, and you go to JAIL for it, but torturing MANY MANY animals (with equal or GREATER cognitive ability) just seen as good business and one of the great bastions of american capitalism?

i'm talking more about her love of eating meat, not her love of hunting.

I guess I disagree with some of my ideological brethren here... I don't want Palin to get the 2012 nomination. I don't want her to run. I don't want her to be a celebrity. She dumbs down the political discourse and further denigrates and distills the Republican Party and by extension, all of us. I'd rather Obama beat a smart, well-intentioned candidate in 2012... but it is up to Republicans and it doesn't look like they are in a mood to expel the crazy from their party any time soon.

Michael Vick committed more crimes than just dog fighting.

thanks madmax. it's just hard for me to understand that, laws aside, torturing one animal is worse than torturing another animal.

Oh, LORD, now we're on the "meat is murder" argument...

Anyway, for the life of me, I can't understand why this woman won't just go away. Well, I guess I can understand that, but what I really mean is why people on the right keep trying to prop her up for 2012. My GOD, is this twit the best we can come up with???

I'm not going to call her a piece of trash (like mc mark did....), or hassle her for eating meat like 90% of Democrats do, but if this is the woman we've decided to push to get rid of Obama in 2012, then all hope is lost.

Seriously, why don't we just nominate Dan Quayle as her running mate while we're at it....

I understand that. And there are lots of people who agree with you...who view all animal life as worthy of protection. I sympathize with that position, but I'm an absolute hypocrite because I eat meat...and have a pet dog whose life I'd defend.

    wha-huh? More like 0.9%.

Shooting wolves from a chopper has been used in parody, sure.

I just found the quote about God putting meat on animals funny, that's all. Like God should make animals out of inorganic fibers or rocks or something...

This is essentially a problem with politics. We are too busy electing public speakers instead of leaders. Stuttering and stampering does not make you a bad leader. If Obama was clumsy with his words like Bush and Palin, he certainly wouldn't be near as popular. Im not saying Palin or Bush were good.

Give me a president who is more interested in serving the public instead of the lobbiest and they will have my vote.

The fact checking comes from the St. Petersburg Times:
    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/

It's a paper with a unique background. But at any rate, they fact check everything that's making news at the time, and right now that happens to be Sarah Palin's book.

Go look at the site. They also keep a running tally of Obama's progress on the campaign promises he made.

They're an indispensable site for getting past the bull**** and poor vetting processes in most politico-speak.

My apologies. I have now edited my post to reflect the 9% less than I had assumed..

Oh, believe me, the sheer stupidity of that statement isn’t lost on me. That’s really my point. The woman is a national joke. And THAT’S who we want to take on Obama??? As many times as she’s made an ass out of herself, you would think Republicans would be trying to alienate her from the party, not pushing her as our next great hope!

She is literally the female version of Dan Quayle. Only way she’d have a chance in 2012 is if Obama was replaced in a coup by Howard Dean.

Sarah, don’t go away mad….just go away.
