News orgs sent people to Alaska because nobody knew anything about the person just chosen as the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Republican Party. By that time, Obama's life had already been turned upside down to the point where he voluntarily sat down for an hours long Q&A with the conservative Chicago paper's editorial board and was grilled on every local and Illinois political association in his past. Biden's been on MTP almost as much as McCain over the years, was a longtime Senator and past Presidential candidate. Everyone knew who he was and what his problems (mostly saying stupid things at inopportune moments) were. You can't expect an unknown national candidate to arrive on the scene and be taken at their word. And really, the whining about there being some concerted effort to destroy Palin rings hollow. The same people so outraged by the basic fact-checking and life-probing that any national candidate would have to submit to pales in comparison to what these same people cheered on when there really was a concerted effort by wingnuts to destroy a Democratic President. Nobody has yet made a video accusing Palin of running drugs and ordering hits on people she doesn't like. Nobody has suggested Todd is gay and sucking off young men on Palin's staff. So quit whining and man up. When you suggest that she can't take a small portion of what was sent at the Clintons it makes her look weak, you pathetic, and does nothing except allow you to pretend like you are defending some maiden's honor from the black mob, which is, again, pathetic.
Again can you link what you are referring to. The only abuse of power charge I know of is Troopergate which was over-turned after the Palins gave their testimony.
Someone made a video?!?!?!?! Certainly pails in comparison to having to spend $300,000 on legal fees for BS charges.
Didn’t the McCain campaign pay a lot of money to help make most of the charges against Palin go away?
Actually it's my understanding that it was never overturned. Here is the one about the jet I mentioned earlier. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/05/sarah-palins-strange-ebay_n_124097.html Here is the abuse of power charges. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...abuse-of-power-as-alaska-governor-958120.html Here is the one about her lying about the chef. http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Alt/alt.politics/2008-09/msg00614.html This lists numerous occasions where she has screwed the Alaskan native populations. The worst being voting rights which she was eventually forced to comply with. http://thedryheat.com/?p=282 If you have a link stating that all of the ethics charges were dropped I'd be happy to see them.
How old are you? Google Clinton Chronicles and compare that to anything Palin has had to deal with. Also, not only did the Clinton's defense cost many times that, but people (Susan McDougal) went to jail because an unscrupulous investigator tried to get them to incriminate the Clintons with lies. So, at a minimum, Clinton's legal bills were 10 times that of Palin. And it wasn't just the Clintons, but a bunch of WH staffers and campaign workers that had to deal with ridiculous lawsuits and investigations that tapped them out. Go read this book... (And the correct words is pales.)
So she sold the jet she just got the means by which she sold the jet wrong? This was dismissed with no charges. Palin fires her chef to save the state money, this is nullified by another government official hiring the chef. Don't tell me she lied about saving the state money by firing this chef. She did save the state money, the other official who hired this chef after just cost the state more. I see nothing about voter rights in this article. I agree with the policy of doing away with any legislation that singles out a race or gender. Those types of policies are what lead to the native american counties becoming the poorest in the country.
link to this? also you know if the "government official" reports to the governor/paid with state funds?
The bi-partisan commission found that she did abuse her power. Those findings stand. Palin transferred the chef, she didn't fire her. She saved the state no money. She saved the state zero dollars. This is from the article.
That investigation was not overturning the earlier one. It was a more Palin friendly panel that had a different finding. It did not trump or overturn the earlier report.
Spank me if this has been posted already. ... I actually like the guy in the camouflage jacket and hat. Seriously, he makes some sense. Otherwise, you can kind of start to feel the apocalypse arriving. <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mKKKgua7wQk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mKKKgua7wQk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object> Also, the guy in the red jacket is poignant. Just a good guy who is either not getting the straight scoop in his information sources or is privy to info that most of us can't access.
Can I have my 8 minutes back please? It truly is amazing how uninformed Palin's supporters really are.
Sorry about that. On the one hand, I hate videos like that, because you can clearly cherry-pick material and find the dumbest people. On the other hand, I have yet to hear a Palin supporter really have a reasoned stance versus an emotional or "gut feeling" stance. As my dad says, "I just like her." Too bad we're not talking about electing a high school class president.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/06/palins-father-she-left-ha_n_381724.html Palin's dad says she left Hawaii because there were too many Asians there and it made her uncomfortable. It just keeps getting more amusing.
