    I hear Detroit is about 10 miles from Canada... Go ahead and do that.

    From what I hear from friends and family who have been there, Detroit is actually a pretty fun place. I hear the people there and the bar scenes are a good time.

    Any place can be fun. After all, there are people that live there every day. Just don't be too adventurous in sketchy places. Stay to the tourist areas, and don't go anywhere at night.
