I feel you man, I'm bald too. At least I'll save myself money from haircuts and use it on something better like hookers

    You bet it can.
I used head and shoulder and shampooed everyday in my 20s and I think it accelerated my hair loss. I strongly suggest you use something else and I think you can get by with shampooing every other day. Take showers as often as you want but sometimes just rinse your hair instead of shampooing.

Losing a few hair when you shower is normal but if you "see fairly sizeable amount of hair around the drain" for months and your dad was bald in his 20s then there is a very good chance that you are heading that way too.
You might think you don't look much different but it's because we start with lots and lots of hair.
Do natural things to take care of your hair and you can slow the process but don't waste your money on hair growth products. Do research and you'll see most, if not all, do not work.

It's actually your mom's dad you should be worrying about, OP, as far as male pattern baldness goes, genetically speaking. Ask him (if he's still around) or ask your mom, someone should be able to tell you.

Start using Nizoral as your shampoo

OP, are you stressed out about something? Stress can lead to more then usual amount of hair loss.

2 things you want try if not all already doing it. Massage scalp when shampooing, and blot or pat dry hair with towel.

I started losing mine at about 21, 7 years ago. Now I just shave it with a #1 every few weeks. I wish I would have started doing that when I first started losing it, because it looks a hell of a lot better. I like the look now and it doesn't bother me at all.

Man, I wish I had the balls to shave my head. It would be so much easier than having to deal with this mop every day.

Unfortunately, I fear that if I shaved my head, I would end up looking like this guy:

My guy is SO worried about going bald because he's losing hair in some of the places so he is going to see if propecia will help to slow down the baldness...i guess from what i see on here, it doesn't help.

My wife is a hair stylist and she has me using something called Therapro Mediceu+icals. I normally don't pay any mind to my hair but she says she can see a big difference. Its a hair follicle and scalp stimulator.

All I can say is there's much less hair around the drains these days.

Started going bald at 18. 10 years later, I just have a larger forehead.

I never really cared. Just acknowledged it as an inevitability.

Go see your doctor and if he confirms that it is male pattern baldness then get a prescription for propecia and you will have to eat that for the rest of your life (it actually stops hair loss, but it wont grow your hair back) and then go buy 5% minoxidil (also known as rogaine) and put it on two times a day (morning and night) but rogaine only grows back the back of your hair (where manu giniboli is going bald) it doesn't work for the hairline. Also use that nizoral shampoo that redefined was talking about. (you can buy this at utla) and yes propecia and rogaine do work...they are the only things scientifically proven to work, you just have to be consistent with it. Also another poster talked about getting a limp d*ck b/c of propecia well it does have that side effect to like 2% (decrease in your sex drive) of people and that usually goes away after like a week.

I have done a lot of research and tried a lot of stuff and the stuff i mentioned will work out if your consistent. I started losing hair a couple of years ago and did a lot of research and nipped it in the butt before it got too bad and now i actually have a substantial amount of regrowth because of rogaine and propecia. (Also I would suggest using Rogaine foam..its a bit more expensive but its less oily and just seems to go on a lot better) I hope this helped you out.

That's exactly what I do...except I get lazy and I don't bust out the clippers until after it gets a little too long.

I'm guessing its inevitable about going bald eventually. I have been stressed. Doing job searching while at the same time getting married around 9 months from now.

Both of my grandfather's were bald, but I'm thinking thats old age instead of late 20s. I'm not sure though. I'll go check with a doctor next week.

I'm very, very thankful that I don't have to worry about losing my hair.

The only troubles I'm having is rogue hairs growing in weird, unpleasant places (nose, ear, shoulders). I can deal with that, though.

This a major problem with me as I am continually ticked off at how my hair is. 2 years ago it was pretty decent but now my hair line has decreased and my hair is becoming thinner. I'm only 17!!! My dad's hair went away when he was younger(no longer living) but I don't know what to do since my hair is falling and I'm only 17! I think it might be Head and Shoulders since I shower with that everyday. But I'm getting pissed.

I talked to my doctor about propecia. He told me it would hurt my "performance". I decided I'd rather be bald. Maybe you should find out about this?
