Interesting take on things from you guys. I would advise you go with what you like also. It sounds like you are better at the marketing management end of business. I'm an accountant who majored in accounting and I'm facing going back to school to get my masters. My choice is between more accounting through an MBA with a concentration in accounting or I'm thinking about going in a MIS direction. If you don't like the accounting classes no amount of money is going to make you like doing it for a living everyday.
The skills that will always be in demand regardless of technical skills or training are thinking and writing. Go the Liberal Arts route. It prepares you on both fronts and it's what you enjoy.
I don't think he's even considering accounting. Accounting is the reason why he's 3 hours short of his Associate's. Marketing, something in Communications, or something in English. I really don't think you would enjoy accounting or finance. Think about it. You don't want to hate your job.
