How many coaches and coordinators are going to get run through the revolving door while Rick Smith remains untouchable year after year?

At what point does it stop being everyone else's fault in this organization?

This. People do not realize just how bad Trestman is. He should never be a HC or OC in the NFL. A terrible leader and piss poor coach.

Norv Turner would be my first choice. Mike Martz my second choice.

mike martz would be terrible. we'd break carr's record for sacks with 200 of them. I like Turner but who knows if he just likes the retired life.

They need to search every staff in America, Randy Fichtner, Joe Lombardi, Greg Knapp, Norv Turner, Cam Cameron and we have to put it out there, Charlie Weis made Matt Castle look like a legitimate professional nfl quarterback, it's worth noting.

When do we start the interview process and hire a coach? So that there is plenty of time for "evaluation".

Then you weren't really paying attention. What he was able to do with TJ Yates against a solid Jets defense, on a short notice, was probably the best coaching he's done his entire tenure here. It extended somewhat with Weeden against the Colts.

Already mentioned... you're not going to necessarily keep one or both without the other. Assistants work for and are hired by the head coach... not necessarily the franchise they coach for.

They're still in position to do that... or at least be able to supplement the current system in a way for the better. I'm all for an outiside voice or a fresh perspective. It worked for Vermeil in St. Louis (with Martz). Worked for Coughlin/Eli with Gilbride in NY. Worked for Garrett with Linehan in Dallas.

I'd be for charlie has New England ties also. Or Cam Cameron I think bob has made some comments regarding Cam during the draft process about mettenburger coming from a pro style offense.

I go for OC that has worked with great QBs. I think Norv Turner would be a good hire, but it maybe short team, he isn't getting any younger. When he re-signed from the Minny this year, Vikings dropped faster than Rousey.

@justtxyank How so? The Rams were one of the best offense under him as an Offensive coordinator and Head Coach. Especially in that Super Bowl run, they the best one of the best offense. He did a good job with the Bears in 2010 and was Jay Cutler's best year, they just didn't had a good O line around him.

aren't O'Brien and Chip Kelly good friends?

Chip did great things with the PHI offense (4th in ppg his first year) , problems happened later bc he had roster control and went nuts with it
