The nutcases will continue to kidnap folks regardless of this. We have people like Reid, the folks from the first WTC bombing etc. in prison, and while there has been some activity in regards to those prisoners it hasn't been all that significant.
Well I guess I'm just of the opinion that we should make them all martyrs, does that make me a bad person?
My eyes are a little blurry today. When I first read the article, I thought this passage... read like this...
I think we can disagree and that doesn't make us either of us a bad person. I believe that the rule of law, and our American Justice system should be followed. I think it is about justice and not allowing terrorists to change our ideals, and American way of following the rule of law.
ok, this is my favorite quote from this ass wipe: Moussaoui said there were times when a Muslim can lie without being immoral: to reconcile Muslims, to answer 'yes' when a wife asks, 'Am I beautiful?' and to carry out jihad."
Are you really saying that you would tell your wife that she has a fat a$$ if indeed that were the case?
Moussaoui participating in 9-11 is like Jerry Lewis participating in the flag raising at Iwo Jima. Even Al Qaeda has enough common sense to recognize a nutjob, whether they be an Al Qaeda nutjob or a White House nutjob. Nuts is nuts. Basso, your keyboard-warrior tough talk is comical. Keep it coming. I need a good laugh today.
I think they're frying him for treason and consipracy charges. But I like sick ironic solutions....converting him would be much worse to his fellow fanatics than breaking him with torture.
He's a French citizen of Moroccan decent, so I was wrong on the treason. They have him on six counts of conspiracy...though there's probably more if this trial falls through: http://www.usdoj.gov/ag/moussaouiindictment.htm -Conspiracy to Commit Acts of Terrorism Transcending National Boundaries -Conspiracy to Commit Aircraft Piracy -Conspiracy to Destroy Aircraft -Conspiracy to Use Weapons of Mass Destruction -Conspiracy to Murder United States Employees -Conspiracy to Destroy Property Here's a pretty good transcript from Newshour with Jim Lehr regarding Moussaoui's death penalty situation: Entire transcript here: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/terrorism/jan-june02/mous_3-28.html
Moussaoui is one sick hate filled individual. He knows exactly what he's doing. He couldn't hack it as an actual terrorists and is now fixated on martyrdom and we're going to oblige him. I wouldn't trust a word he's said. That doesn't mean he doesn't know something but considering how often he's changed his story around, grandstanding and odd behavior I find it almost impossible to accept that this guy could be the leader of a terrorist cell let alone a book club. The idea that Richard Reid, incompetent terrorist # 2, could be his partner in something as complicated as hijacking an airplane seems more ridiculous. Moussaoui wants martyrdom like JVG wants the Rox to make a defensive stop. He's said so much when he was almost about to get off because of prosecutorial misconduct he said "The show must go on."
Tabling the insanity issue - I don't see why we should allow moussaoui to get what he wants, especially at the cost of perverting the criminal justice system both by expanding the law and allowing it to be exploited the way it is. The alternative is what he dreads, to let him rot. So let him rot.
Don't let me stop your great self-destruction! Die if you want to, you misguided martyr! I wash my hands of your demolition! Die if you want to you innocent puppet! every time i look at you i don't understand...
