Isn't Vanilla Ice going to be fighting in that event as well? Supposedly there's a mystery opponent. My guesses: Dennis Rodman or MC Hammer. The things people do for money.
I can't help but wonder how many of her "friends" she did this to. Do you by any chance know? Was it more or less than 5?!
That, or we had different opinions about the show. I thought her side of things was interesting. Like how Linda Tripp tried to hug her immediately after sicing the FBI on her, or how the FBI told her that she didn't need a lawyer because if she got one, then they wouldn't be able to tell her as much. I also found the exchange with the other girl who was hit on by the high school teacher interesting.
You understand nothing of Linda Tripp's motivations. If she was just the bi+ch that you portray her as, she would have audio-taped many more conversations with Monica and other "friends." Why didn't she have prior conversations with Monica taped? Why only tape them when it turns into this Clinton Confession Session?
No kidding. You mean to say that she was only taping conversations that had some material content-- with perhaps even national security ramifications? Can anyone say BLACKMAIL?I bet she missed the first one because she didn't know it was coming. My oh my, that doesn't sound like a bad friend... that sounds like purposeful intelligence gathering. Could it be? Well in the end the tapes she did get kind of saved her ass by verifying her story and helping to over-turn Clinton's lying. That's WHY she taped the conversations. She and Monica were not friends. Monica was imposing on her-- probably trying to impress her. Monica says they were friends because that gets her sympathy. You are analyzing this with the scrutiny of a hack for Soap Opera Digest. What did the fame get Linda? She lost her job. She just lost her house. Instead of being famous, she was reviled by the likes of you. I guess it did get her some plastic sugery.... Duh back at ya!
She knew that Monica thought of her as a friend though, and she played herself off as one. Nevertheless there was no reason to tape the conversations...she hadn't lied on the affidavit yet. The only thing Linda wanted to do was make a name for herself...and while she may have lost her job and house (she's lucky she wasn't prosecuted since what she did was against the law in Maryland), she still became a hero to conservatives like yourself. She just got lucky that both the President and Monica lied about it.
What kind of fame would come from this? Linda Tripp knew she would be made a villain if the tapes came to the surface. Why was there no reason to tape the conversations? She indeed did it. What was said BEFORE she started taping which prompted her to start taping? She knew that she would be asked to lie. Didn't she need to be able to prove the liars were PRESIDENT CLINTON/Monica and not her? Who's going to believe her story over the President's without the audiotaped evidence? C'mon. I thought the state of Maryland backed off of that prosecution-- not that they overlooked it. I didn't know that she was my hero. I do think she is a smart, gutsy lady who deserved better than she got. WE got lucky that President Clinton got caught in a lie. Thanks to Linda Tripp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Without her tapes it would have been Bill vs Monica-- He said/She said and Clinton would have won just like he would have triumphed over Linda Tripp sans tapes. Hooray for the micro-cassette.
Just for the record, Kenneth Star was investigating Clinton's involvement with Whitewater, right? Did Monica ever reveal anything even remotely Whitewater-related to Linda Tripp? Why was Kenneth Star asking questions about Clinton's sex-life in the first place? Talk about waste of tax-dollars and all so the Republicans could justify their irrational hatred of Clinton. BTW, Clinton was an ass to cheat on his wife (although you think most Republicans would be more sympathetic, the way they hate on Hillary so much). But I still don't see how his liasons (or lying about them) equals any kind of wrong-doing anywhere else.
You were probably taping the conversations you had with your friends when they told you they had cheated on their wives.
Well, Kenneth Star was about as Republican as they come. And he was the one directing the line of questioning. It always seemed funny to me that the Republicans used a legal technicality (perjury completely unrelated to the issue for which he was being investigated) to accuse Clinton of wrongdoing but howled when Clinton used a legal technicality (his rather loose interpretation of sex and the word "is") to weasle out of his lie. It was all a bunch of political muckracking. And it hurt both parties in the end. I guarantee the Republicans would still have control of the Senate if Kenneth and Newt hadn't been so hell-bent on getting Clinton. Clinton pretty much ensured that Bush won the presidential election.
