[GM FAIL] Nets hire Billy King

Maybe he should start using a computer...Or at least have his secretary print out some Bill Simmons articles.

 

Starting to get very worried about the Nets throwing a huge amount of money at Scola.

Will Billy King get whacked when the Russian got wise and decided to get rid of him without having to pay his remaining salary?

 

I think pritchard would have been good for them. The owner is like a euro jerry buss and kp is kinda charismatic also. They could have really made some noise. I really like their core right now.

The phrase "GM Fail" may need to be reserved for if and when the Knicks decide to bring back Isiah Thomas.

 

They should have looked for Moneyball GM from MIT in the mold of Sam Presti or Daryl Morey, or stolen somebody from the Spurs frontoffice.

 

Avery Johnson wanted a yes man,and he got one. Johnson has power and control over decisions.

 

Kevin Pritchard is an ******* who complained publicly about the head coach making more money than him.

Moneyball GM's havent proven **** and are for cash strapped owners. Draft well you and you will be in better position to contend than beaners.

Pritchard is interested in the Knicks. Maybe he expects Walsh to retire by the time Carmelo and Paul join.

 

Presti convinced Popovich that Tony Parker would be the best draft choice. He was convinced that Parker was being undervalued. Presti's pick Parker has helped the Spurs win 3 more rings, before Presti went to OKC. He designed the current Spurs scouting database. He's turned the OKC Thunder around from 30-35 win seasons into a 50 win playoff contender with fast improving young players like Durant, Russell Westbrook and Sefolosha.

Only the Lakers have more rings in the last decade. That's still better than 28 other teams. It's a player's league, if you can't have Kobe, get a good GM.

It takes years to clear away a bad GM's screw ups. Morey has finally finished getting rid of most of CD's old Knicks players and hobbled stars with talented players.

 

PS. Presti has 3 rings thanks to his most famous 2001 undervalued pick. HOw many does Billy King have as a GM? I'll take Presti's 3 rings and moneyball over King's 76ers personnel moves.
