    1. when i posted this, i had no idea it was the exact same stuff from the exact same people...assuming that statement is accurate, anyway. i didn't review my prior posts from 2003 and on. i saw a group of people whose names i don't recall and didn't recognize who looked like they had some credibility on the topic because of the handy descriptive words next to their names. i posted it on a basketball forum to generate discussion (and to silently convert all of you world leaders, captains of industry and otherwise influential persons to my crazed viewpoint of destroying the world one styrofoam cup at a time...perhaps convincing you to even throw away your six-pack plastic rings without cutting them up, in spite of the dolphins)

    2. what i'm certain of is that i don't care if you view me as a skeptic or a GW-denier or whatever else. i finished off my last can of "care about what SamFisher thinks of me" a while back. assume what you will. i've told you where i am on it and you can take me at face value or believe me to be a liar. i don't suppose there's a third option to work with.

i would agree. And it's why I'm INTERESTED in dissenting opinions, whether they impact how I personally respond to this or not. And I must say, I'm uncomfortable with the whole [robot voice]the establishment says it is so do not question the establishment[/robot voice] response that I see from time to time on this issue.

but i can promise you my thoughts on this aren't impactful...even when displayed on this mighty, mighty message board.

I know you don't care - but anyway - if you are so interested in the opinions why do you post the same ones every few years, challenging people to debunk them or at least their credentials, portraying it as if it's the first time you have seen any of this stuff. Then when people do it we just repeat the exercise again.

This leads me to suspect that you are not really that interested in the opinions themselves or the people making them. Or maybe it's just coincidence and you forgot...it is indeed possible, though you do post quite a bit.

The explanation that I am left with is that you are just interested in dissenting opinions because they are dissenting, and being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian (witness HayesStreet 2003 vs. HayesStreet 2008) or are naturally a GW skeptic.

Here's a great post on the rationale (not the scientific rationale, more of a philosophical rationale) of GW deniers/contrarians/skeptics.

I've posted some dissenting opinions from the same appropriately named topics before. Even mentioned why it's wrong to pin environmentalism with the concept of global warming.

Gonna have to pass on taking this one seriously.

    I know...I know...big loss.

    Just for you, Sammy!!!

And why do you respond and go through the same song and dance over and over again? Why keep coming back to this thread that is clearly so irritating to you to argue tirelessly with someone like me? For kicks?

Or is it because you're in love with me? I can only assume by your detailed analysis of my motivations and your extended searches through my posts here since 2003 that you have feelings for me. You can try to deny it, but your patterns of posts to me here (and there are quite a few) give you away.

Sammy, I don't swing that way. I'm happily married...to a woman (it's Texas, after all). But I'm flattered..and I'm positive there's someone special out there for you. You're a good egg.

Honestly I don't know why we do what we do here. I guess just bored. I mean it's probably a similar reason to why you start the same GW-related threads on a quarterly basis for the past few years right? (for the record it wasn't THAT difficult to find your old posts on the subject since you rarely post about "warming" anything else...maybe if you worked in a radiator factory it would have posed a challenge).

Might be worth taking that radiator factory job, then.

I hope this doesn't take me off your Christmas list. I'm expecting Isotoner gloves from you, this year.

Careful, Basso might start accusing you of mocking gays and since you voted for Obama as another sign that Obama is against gays.

YOU'RE DAMNED RIGHT I ORDERED THE CODE RED!!!

Son, we post in a messageboard that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by posters with keyboards. Whose gonna do it? You? You, imdrummer?

I have more responsibility here than you could possibly fathom. You weep for SamFisher, and you curse me. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That me applying vaguely homosexual feelings to SamFisher, while tragic, probably saved lives. And that my post count, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.

I know deep down in places you dont talk about at parties with Fatty, you want me on this message board, you need me on this messageboard.

We use words like fomfotable; "maybe. maybe no."; and Sura faints. We use these words as the backbone of a life (and way too much of it) spent defending something. You use them as a punchline.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a keyboard, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

Why don't we all just get on the Peak Oil bandwagon and the Global Warming issue will go away on its own.

    Now in defense of MadMax-

He is questioning, not opposing; he is open to questions not objecting to the prevailing views.

Those who are attacking him are wrong for doing it.

There is not one scientist who is supportive of Global Warming who has concluded absolutely without any percentage of doubt that CO2 emissions will be the varifiable absolute cause of any climate catastrophe.
(or any other green house gas)

When you start shouting down dissenting voices, honest questions and dominating discussions you are being intolerant and suppressive.

The fact is there are scientists who have doubts. None of us are climate scientists so we all have to draw conclusions based upon what we are willing to research for ourselves.

In the field of science doubts are a good thing and lead to further study and often conclusive proofs.

The fact that MadMax posted something that seems biased is OK.

    I repeat OK.

It should have been discussed and debated, yet it actually resulted in insult.

I only wish MadMax would have included a poll like this-

    1. I am a smart a** and I can prove to you that I am right about global warming.

    2. I am a nice person who is willing to discuss it.

    3. I am a dumb a** who doesn't care.

Not saying how I would have voted. :)

I'd make a special part for myself that says: "I'm the Dumba## who posted it!"

Honestly, it's all good. No hard feelings. It's a message board, after all! :D

I am on record as saying I support high gas prices and think that is the best solution to combatting Global Warming.

Na, I would rather just mock him. :p
