Yeah, but last night's -10 kind of trumped Sunday's 40.

-10 is expected for MN in the Winter not 40. Gotta be all that CO2 admitted by snow mobilers taking advantage of the early winter snow. ;)

You catching our Rox taking on the T-Pups at the Target Center this Sat? The T-wolves had a $5 ticket deal.

Didn't read the entire thread but I think global warming is crap. It's all a cycle. Look at the 'dust bowl' in the 1930's, the problems with locust and the long standing drought. You guys that are proglobal warming know about that? Look at the fact that Houston statistically gets a hurricane every 25 years. In this case, I see people hyping it up to create fear(and line their own pockets like Al Gore) so the governement can tax us for carbon credits. Kind of like using 9/11 scare tactics to gain public support for going in to Iraqi after 'WMD's'. I find it nothing more than creating public fear and panic to allow legislation to pass.

Bowling night, so I'll even miss the first half on TV.

I never EXPECT -10. :) 40 would have been great if it hadn't been raining. It was more like March than December.

I think they get little bubbles trapped in the ice cores, and from these they measure the atmospheric composition (how much of what gas) from the distant past. Oxygen content, I think, gives you a really good idea of temperature, and you can also measure the CO2 content.

They can get spots that are roughly two miles thick, going back to accumulations that are hundreds of thousands of years old.

    This is awesome.

Didn't read the entire thread but I don't believe in these bacteria things. I mean, have you ever seen one? Oh sure, with one of those fake "microscope" things, but I mean with your own eyes.

LOL. This guy probably also thinks that 9/11 was orchestrated by the government in order to give false pretense to illegally go into Iraq, make Halliburton tons of money, and pass many bills that destroy our Constitutional rights! According to what I watched on Fox News, that would never happen.

It's snowed like crazy in Las Vegas the past two days, but according to Al Gore that just confirms that global warming is real, folks. I guess when I stick my hand into a pot of boiling water I might get frostbite! But listen to Mr. Gore, he doesn't stand to make any money off of this!

I like that chart as well. Amazingly, despite the sample size of data being 400,000 years, that is still statistically insignificant in geological time.
