Harden's ability to draw fouls is like the opposite of Hack-a-Player. Instead of them hacking us to force FT's, we are reversing it on them to take FT's.

Makes sense to me. Harden has never sought after validation from the league or fans. He doesn’t dunk and make faces like Westbrook. He doesn’t play look at me every time he does anything like Curry, who has a really awkward and unnatural sense about showboating. It’s like, even though he does it all the time he just looks like he knows he shouldn’t be doing it. Harden isn’t Lebron, making sure his every breath Is on ESPN. 3-4 years ago he had a lowlight reel that has extended an undeserved perception beyond fact. He isn’t a breath taking athlete. He doesn’t have the flashiest handles.

And more.....and he’s doesn’t care what you think about it. He’s taken his blade and sharpened it, and sharpened it, and sharpened it. Now he is likely the best player in the world and people are just dying to hold on to old or worn out complaints because they don’t like that he’s doesn’t need their validation to be what he is.

Even as good as everything is going right now...do you think he and CP are best buddies? Dwight needed a best friend. Harden didn’t. McHale needed him to be 94 ft Jesus and can’t stand that the problem with his teams were a lack of structure. Barkley gets paid to complain. These podcasters can’t even put into words what is exactly their beef. That’s like a musician who can’t express himself musically for craps sake.

Dwight didn’t like that Harden didn’t need him. McHale didn’t like that Harden didn’t need him. Barkley doesn’t like anything. Podcasters don’t like that Harden doesn’t need their praise.

    TL;DR
Harden turned himself into the best player in the world by believing in himself and doesn’t need your stamp of approval on it.
