Anyone know what his ex-assistant basketball coaches that he hired during his short tenure at UH are doing now
I saw one of them the other day at Goode Company Barbecue. In a related note, I also saw Wayne Dolciefino (Local News Anchor)....At least that's how I think you spell it. ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Langhi at the buzzer.......YES!!! How Sweet It Is!!
Recognizable faces.... Clyde the Glide, Eddie Johnson, Danny Schayes (former Sun and Magic center), Joe Wolf (the former Magic and Buck big man scrub) I'd probably need a better-quality photo to recognize the others..... ------------------
It's actually kind of old news. I thought Clyde quit UH to spend time with his family. I also thought "Legend" meant that you had done something in the league. Oh well, they have a few. <HR WIDTH=75%> From http://www.nba.com/global/legends_china_000725.html BEIJING, July 25 — NBA Legends Clyde "The Glide" Drexler and Dominique Wilkins headline a star-studded group of NBA Legends who will play a three-game series against the China National basketball team in August, according to event organizers ABC Promotions, Ltd. Drexler, one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players, was one of three players in league history to accumulate at least 20,000 points, 6,000 rebounds and 6,000 assists. After spending 11½ years playing for Portland Trail Blazers, where he reached the NBA Finals in 1990 and 1992, he helped the Houston Rockets win their second straight NBA Championship in 1995. Most recently he coached the University of Houston. Wilkins, called the "Human Highlight Film" for his exciting style of play, ranks eighth all-time on the NBA's scoring list (26,668), eighth in field goals made (9,913) and sixth in field goals in attempted (21,467). A nine-time NBA All-Star and two-time NBA All-Star Slam Dunk champion, Wilkins played for the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic during his 15-year NBA career. Joining Drexler and Wilkins on the Legends are Buck Williams, Rolando Blackman, Eddie Johnson, Danny Schayes, Joe Wolf, Tim Kempton, Charles Smith, Doug Smith, Corey Beck and Tremaine Fowlkes. The Legends' coach is Hall of Fame forward Rick Barry. "These NBA Legends are Olympians, Hall of Famers, All-Stars and NBA Championship winners with vast knowledge of the game and the ability to share it. They will absolutely help China's preparations for Olympic success in September," said Tom McCarthy, CEO of ABC promotions, which organized a Legends Tour in 1998. "We are very honored to have these great players coming to China," said Xin Lancheng, Secretary General of the Chinese Basketball Association. "The NBA Retired Players Association (NBRPA) is extremely excited to be bringing basketball's legends to Asia and supporting the development of the game," NBRPA Executive Director Mel Davis said. Two of China's players, Wang Zhi-Zhi and Hu Wei Dong, have already received recognition by the NBA. Wang was drafted in the second round by the Dallas Mavericks in 1999. This season Hu was offered a 10-day contract by the Orlando Magic, before an injury sidelined him. "We are very pleased that our former NBA greats, together with some of the best Chinese players, will get a chance to showcase and promote the sport of basketball to our Chinese fans," NBA Commissioner David Stern said. "We are grateful for the support of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), who shares our vision and commitment to bring the best quality games to the fans in China." The first game will be Aug. 11 at the 14,000-seat Workers Stadium in Beijing. The second game takes place at the 8,000-seat Tian He Stadium in Guangzhou on Aug. 14. The last game, on Aug. 17, is at the 10,000-seat Shanghai Stadium. The event is being sponsored by Lucent Technologies, NorthWest Airlines, Air China, Gatorade, Spalding, Schlumberger and Swatch. ------------------ Bad spellers of the world: UNTIE!
