Except for recent pandering to get votes, part of Ron Paul's domestic agenda forever has been to end SS/Medicare. You got conned.

Yes, he would, and his supporters have no real answer to my post. We aren't talking about some nebulous speculation here, but a Texas governor, with the support of his party in the lgislature, who has repeatedly attempted to do on the state level some of what Paul proposes to do on the Federal level, and it has been an abject failure. And what a coincidence... Texas is at or near the bottom on social services for the elderly, for disadvantaged children, and for the poor in just about every metric used. Golly, I'm sure that somehow it is good for Texas. And yes, that last bit was sarcasm.

Umm....I know that he thinks they are unconstitutional and would ideally like to end them. However, in his budget plan he doesn't cut SS/Medicare. Hence, to think he will to try to end them an President is ridiculous.

I will tell you one thing though. Anyone who thinks we can fund our overseas empire, fight wars, and pay for the entitlements are the ones who have been conned. I mean, it is perfectly fine that we currently steal money from SS to fund our overseas empire & fight wars...

in addition to above, his specific stance on social security is to let people opt out if they want.
what's so bad about giving people options?

Let's face it; you hate the welfare state like all Paulites otherwise you would be a leftist or a liberal many of whom have espoused civil liberties and a non-militarist foreign policy long before the theory of "libertarianism" and before Ron Paul. You guys fool nobody but perhaps yourselves.

lol :) Ron Paul strongly supports social security and medicare and has great concern for the old and sick. He just happens to be so sincerely in the extreme minority who thinks Medicare/SS are "unconstitutional. He loves the consitution so much that it breaks his heart to have to sacrifice the old and sick and even children because of his love of the consitution.
