The name alone is enough to say no to any deal involving him! Also his fat ass and annoying face are sopmething I do not want to see in a Rockets jersey, period.
Are you sure we're talking about the same guy? Richardson is quite a bad defender. Not Kevin Martin bad, but not much better, either. I do think the Davis is a bit overpaid, but he may be good enough to ship him off to another team down the road. Duhon is one of the worst players in the league, but his contract is short and only partially guaranteed for next year, so you might be able to ship him off as well. Richardson is serviceable, but he has 3 years left and is overpaid by $2-3M anually. He's a pretty bad defender and only has slightly better handles than Kevin Martin. Good shooter, but fully reliant on it. Can't get to the rim anymore and if he does he more often than not isn't able to finish. I think he's the guy you most likely would be stuck with. Obviously, if you got enough assets left, there's a way to get out of all these contracts. The question then becomes whether or not you could ship all these guys out and still be left with enough (other than cap space) to assemble a contending team.
maybe we can assume some of disney corporation's debt and maybe pass out amway product samples at toyota center turnstiles for them as well?
A little old...but recent enough. The guy has decent skills at 6 million a year. Would be a good addition. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/g9dN-vPw4Dc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
This could be the worst post in the history of the GARM. Congratulations because that's incredibly difficult to do.
Difference being, Glen Davis has been around long enough that you knew what he was capable of. His April showing wasn't a "break out" performance - it was him getting back to playing at his best. This isn't the first time he's exploded in the playoffs and mailed in the regular season. It's as if Shaq taught him as a rookie to give 10% Oct-March. Having said all that, at $6.4M per, he's not awful as an undersized F/C. He's also a guy that should not be terribly difficult to turn around and trade back out.
I would definitely be okay taking back Glen Davis. Really the one guy I do not want the Rockets to take back is Turkey Glue. But Davis is only 26 years old. How about you let the Lakers take Howard and Turkey Glue and we will take Bynum and Davis (through in Richardson if you have to also). Assuming Houston could keep Parsons, that would give us a 24 year old center, a 26 year old PF and a 23 year old SF. I would be fine with that front court for the next 5 years. Just need to find the backcourt to go with it now.
Glen Davis is terrible. Sub-.500 TS% for the last two seasons for a big? He's basically a 300-lb Maurice Taylor.
Kinda equivalent to a servicable Juwan Howard back in the McGrady trade. Though younger in the prime of his career. Can go with him, though would be looking for a replacement.
He's not a great player but he's definitely a useful one. He is a more than capable backup C and PF. His contract isn't ideal but it's also not terrible. He's definitely a player that could be traded in a year. You wouldn't get anything great (unless he plays amazing all of a sudden) but you could clear his salary probably and get 2 or something. Davis is a player I want in this deal among all the bad contracts being discussed. He fills a role.
Just think of this when having this fat ass on our team and his pants are sagging making you see his underwear and Bill saying: "Big baby is wearing diapers" with clyde responding "he he, he sure is Bill. You know Glen Davis is on the of the best PFs in the league."
