You can have both. Tank this year and hopefully get one of Scooter or Victor. It’s next summer Wiggins is a FA.

For a lot of reasons KMJ should start next year.

    1. See what you have in him. Could he be the long term answer or at least a rotation fixture?
    2. Up his trade value.
    3. Continue the tank as he’s still young and will make mistakes.

I want Gordon, Tate and Nwaba gone. Let all the young guys play and tank one more season. In 2023 Wall goes away and you can sign your max guys around Green, Banchero, and hopefully Scooter or Wemby.

Not sure if this lineup could win the g-league title….not one of the backups listed has done squat at the professional level. This is laughable. Would rather keep Tate (as a backup) and the Dallas guys to keep us competitive at least.

Martin, Tate, and Mathews are all slotted at SF until otherwise.

Yes, Beauchamp is a better fit as a SF than all of them.

I think 17, 26, and a future pick gets then to Sochan if they value him that way.

Still raw on offense but is a decent ball mover and cutter. He shows some potential to eventually be a shooter... very young still... having him and Sengun could make life easier for Banchero and Green off the ball...

He's one of the only 3s in the draft that can credibly guard 1-4 which is why he's moved up...

Not trying to win next season (though I think that team wins more than the past 2 seasons and is entertaining).Project them with 2 or 3 years of experience...

    Maybe?

I’d say it’s not entirely likely that he’s better then all 3 proven NBA caliber players we have.

Just a reminder, Beauchamp is 6’5 195, and didn’t exactly dominate the G-league despite him being 21 (will be 22 before season starts). KJ Martin is younger, for example.

C'mon, what do you want, better or new and shiny?

Gotta go with new and shiny.

Beauchamp is 6'6.5 as measured by the nba combine, with a 7'1 wing span. He can clearly play SF. The premise of the thread was that we need long wiry defenders next to Green and Paolo, Beauchamp fits that. Kj Martin is neither long nor a defender, he's 6'6 with average arms, athletic, but bad on defense. Also not a SF, clearly a front court player that can't stay with guards/wings on D.

Not sure if mentioned already but Eason is from the Seattle area and actually played against PB5 in high school.

Those Seattle ties in effect with Eason as well.

Just draft the BPA, try to combine the 26/17 to move up. The team is still going to be bad next year.

We don’t go by in shoe measurements anymore. Despite KJ having shorter arms, his explosiveness and timing allow him to rack up blocks and play bigger t he his frame, we have ran him at PF, he would be a solid sized SF. Not to mention KJ has literally 20 pounds of muscle of Beauchamp

I'm probably in the minority, but I think the Rockets should considering trading one of the lower first-round picks + a player for DeAndre Hunter. I think he's the perfect fit here and I'm not sure Atlanta really wants to extend him. Maybe something like 3 years, $50 million? His biggest issue has been injuries but he's young and would bring a lot of stability to this squad.

I think it all hinges on how one feels about Tate and Garuba. Are you ok with Tate continuing to play undersized 4? Or would you rather he move to his natural 3? And then how do you feel about Garuba developing and at what position?

I've said it like 30 times this past month but Tate should be starting 3. That's his natural spot and in that lineup is the 5th option. I'd love to see Garuba in at 4 too, I think turning him into some typical rim running albeit undersized big is a disservice to his development.

Eason is 6'8 to Sochan 6'9.

But Eason has a 7'2 wingspan vs Sochan 7'0 wingspan.

Sochan is excellent mirror defender, Eason is as well but the most disruptive defender since Thybulle.

    Both are switchable.

Eason is the much better offensive player.

    This.
I really hope we cash in on his 'potential' at some stage this year. Just because he is short doesn't make him a SF... definitely plays the 4 (or 5 on occasion). Tate is better suited to start at the 3 over KJMjr

Also, I don't see us starting 2 rookies at the F spots. So either we find an experienced long 3nD guy, or we draft and develop with EGO and Tate as the starters and taking most of the minutes.

Sadly I think it will be EGO Tate Christopher Mathews filling out the wing minutes behind Green.

Especially considering we are looking for Cs in free agency - get a starting rim protecting rebounded, next to Banchero we then have more front court height than we have had for years.... even with midget Gordon at the 3
