i don't know how people can be so pessimistic about Rice. Last year, he was playing with what ventually became a tear in his tendon. Imagine how much he was hurting. Still, I LOVED the way he played in the high post, especially his passing. For Rice, the most important part of his game is having his lgs underneath him. Now that he's lost 20lbs, I think he will. Last year, he couldn't work out all summer, and started injured. This year, he's been playing all summer, so his timing is not off, AND he's got his legs underneath him.

10ppg is given. I'd love to make that bet, but here's why I wouldn't:

The Rockets see how Rice is doing great, have practically snapped up a playoff spot with 12 games to go (6th seed or so), and Boki is looking great. So the Rockets decide to let Rice's VERY minor ( ;) ) injuries heal before the playoffs. So that's 12 games just like that. So if he misses like 10 games for whatever reason (flu, suspension, family, etc..) it can reach 22 games.

But he's definitely going to get 10ppg. No doubt about that.

Rice will be an integral part of this team's playoff games.

Rice is going to be the Rocket with the MOST wide ope shots. you have Francis, Mobley, Griffin or MoT, Yao Ming, and Glen Rice ont he floor. Rice will benefit from this.

SRC, So you admit that you were wrong in your generalization about aging shooters can't produce like Steve Smith. That was my only point, not making predictions. Oh, and btw: There is no such thing as a 5th or 6th option in basketball. That's something fans say to rank players based on point production.

I thought you were betting on his ability to shoot and score in any system. Now you are attention games played to it. Comparing your bet to mine, you're being a wussy protecting yourself. If Rice plays 50 games and scores 15ppg, you lose dude.

If Rice plays 40 games and scores 11ppg, you lose dude. If you want to attatch efficiency to it with a 3 pt fg% to it, fine. But games played is a wussy bet. Make the bet harder on yourself if you expect people to bet you...wuss.

    :p

rice is going to add more than the ability to nail the three. Ya'll are forgetting that his is a real good post up player too, i don' t really see him scoring anywhere from 15-20 a game because he wont get that many touches. But i can see him getting the ball in clutch situations
