I am outraged at inaccuracy. Also the post I said was the best one in the thread didn't include any form of the word r****ded. It was the post saying that Palin's lack of intelligence and education should keep her out of office, but was perfect for giving care to Trig. However, the initial post was fine as well since it was clearly intended only to reply to basso with something as equally absurd as what basso posts. In Mark Twain's novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin, the protagonist says this "“It was fifteen minutes before I could work myself up to go and humble myself to a n*****" He used a racial slur in his book. Does this mean that the book, or the author are racist? The 'n' word is surely as offensive as the word that upset you so much, yet thinking people can look at the whole context and see and that the book actually takes a stance against racism and prejudice. You wouldn't say that in front of that audience either. What sucks here is I have as much respect for teachers as I do caregivers. Saying something that offensive is wrong and I damn well know you wouldn't encourage your students to say something that offensive just to even the score. It was below the belt. There are differing opinions on both sides of that equation. Some say as you do. Some say it only confirmed racial stereotypes. Since Sam was not writing a fictional novel in a time where things were much less PC and Sam was in 2009 using a horrible slur to a care giver for a special needs child to discredit him, you do not have a point here.
