i remember back when Teddy Kennedy died, a few of the usual suspects were pretty quick to dump on him before his body was in the ground, chanting Chappaquiddick over and over agin. To be expected of course, not really out of the ordinary here. What was not present was somebody arguing that their Teddy Kennedy-bashing was motivated by their hatred of Rosemary Kennedy and her disability.
First of all I thought you were referring to the media, not posters here. I didn't know Basso's kid was autistic, if that is the case, people shouldn't be harsh on him - unless he is using that fact to put others down or debate with. I don't know what he is doing there - I haven't seen any of the posts. As for the comments towards Sarah Palin - I admit that is borderline. Technically he is attacking her - not her family. I mean, it does take more emotional strength than raw intellect to raise ANY child - special needs or not. Being a genius doesn't make you a good parent at all. Still, I do agree that these kinds of remarks don't reflect well on those making them. That doesn't mean the left is hating on Sarah Palin because she has a down-syndrome baby though - that's a stretch and makes you part of the herd mentality yourself you know.
Nobody can compete with you at that game. Every time you post, the thread devolves into the nasty swamp this one has become. That's by design. You like it that way. You're a proven liar. Take, for example, your outrageous and entirely unfounded accusations that I hate special needs kids (you *****tard), proving forever that nothing is sacred with you. Or take your long history of plagiarism here. There are plenty of examples of both. Nobody can trust a single thing you say. That's your fault, not mine.
I have not read slams hurled toward the mentally handicapped community in this thread you must be lying or making ***** up
Lol. You couldn't score with Nancy Pelosi even if she ate a bunch of roofies. You respect the green dots.... Do you know how pathetic that defense was? You said... At least he has the points. You didn't offer up anything else but just a bunch of points that some of points he got from being a jerk on an internet board. I hope you don't have to ever give the best man speech for him. "I think Sam will make a good husband and father because he got a lot of green dots on an internet board."
This is probably the most appropriate post in the whole thread. I will tell you why. It slams Palin's lack of qualifications as a VP candidate. That in itself points out how ridiculous this praise of her motherhood is as if it somehow qualifies her to be the President or VP. Nobody should ever treat the claim that opponents of Palin have any ill will because she has a special needs child. It isn't true and hasn't been demonstrated at all. So Sam's lack of seriousness in responding to the charge is exactly what it deserves. It's too bad anyone who agrees that Palin's decision to give birth a special needs baby isn't a qualification for President would also criticize Sam for this post. There is probably no post in this thread that better illustratres the absurdity of the original post and thread title to begin with. It is in no way disparaging of special needs children, or parents who raise them. The sad thing is that some here couldn't see it.
Or you just can't read. On the subject of lying, how did originally posted by Granville get on the quote from someone else that you tried pin on me? Didn't want to bust you like I did your boys but you asked for it. I'm not the only one who took offense to the comments directed at the handicapped community, go bother them.
At least we all agree that Sarah needs to give thanks for Trig being DS the most, because if he was normal we wouldn't even be talking about her right now.
They're wrong. There's no point whatsoever in treating special needs kids seriously in a basso thread. He lost any right or privilege to participate in a serious discussion of the issue when he started arbitrarily accusing people of hating special needs kids just because they don't support Palin. His posts on the subject are offensive and they are a joke. The only appropriate way to respond is with more of the same.
Yes, and that's the sad thing. Fine posters like that should be able to see Sam's post for what it is. I will stick to my claim. There is no more appropriate post in this thread. It is in no way offensive to mothers who care for special needs children, or to special needs children themselves. It is an attack on Palin, and anyone else who thinks her child is a qualification for holding office. It is an attack on how silly this thread is to begin with. That post is an attack on self righteous hogwash that you and others have thrown in here trying to defend it.
refman is still the "right-wing voice" of this forum AFAIC. He is a thinking conservative with intellectual honesty and curiosity, unlike many others who don't need to be mentioned.
