On the Mavericks game, I gave Calvin a card that mentioned www.clutchcity.net . He does all the talking, I am a very shy person, and I felt really cool with calvin. Except he forgot to say my name in his broadcast, which he told me he would do.
My problem is that I am a pretty shy person in real life. I'll have some family along with me, but I know I will have a lot of trouble approaching anyone famous. Of all the people on the BBS that I'd expect to be shy, you were one of the last ones. Anyway, don't worry about that with Bill and Calvin. They are very regular guys once you talk with them-- don't think of them as someone that famous. Do you have a coat with a big inside pocket? Perhaps something like that would work... I highly doubt they're going to arrest you if they find out you were trying to give some cookies to some announcers. But, if you don't want to, just tell them how you tried to but that security wouldn't allow it. Don't be nervous around Bill and Calvin... just talk to them and tell them to mention your name and clutchcity.net on air.
You guys are not going to believe this, but my then-girlfriend / now-wife started the cookie thing in 1996/97 slightly as a joke in the Meadowlands in New Jersey. It was way before his ex-wife died, actually. I have it on tape somewhere. The hard part is getting past the usher, but just be cool and ask them if you can deliver. If not, try someone else. Do not ask for anything from anyone, and leave a legible, very short note with Calvin on the cookies. They will say hi but not chat. More often than not, it does not get read. I have tried to get them to mention CC.net a million times, they never do. CBFC gets run via cookies-for-calvin, but not CC.net (weird). good thinking cbfc

Unfortunately, I'll be in Virginia for Thanksgiving or I'd be going to the Sonics/Rocks game as well.. I went to see Weezer/Tenacious D at Key Arena the other night and security was horrible. It was the most ridiculous rat race I've ever seen... but I've already been to the Key for one Sonics game this season and it was nothing like that.. Have fun at the game! Go Rockets!
