This is the first thread I found with the word "podcast" in the title, so it's as good as any place to put this. For anyone who is a baseball fan as much as an Astros fan, I just watched a great podcast. It was Flippin Bats from last week and was an interview w/ David Justice and I loved it. (Always hated him as a Brave, but new appreciation) Recommended.
@Wulaw Horn I am excited to hear you talk about my pisition player philosophy on your podcast. Don't F it up. JK Years ago a guy I talked with a bunch on a site like this did something similar and asked me to come on his audio show. I think is was a radio show of some kind) and giveca top 10 rookie of the year candidates w/ a short commentary on each. 1) my #1 candidate was Justin Verlander 2) it was terrible radio with ke just blathering on non-stop for about 15 minutes. At first I thought he just wanted a time slot to hit the head, but then I realized if that was the case he would have probably invited me back. Lol
Just listened to this week's podcast. Thanks for giving me 15 minutes of Fame and you both for acknowledging my GM philosophy isn't dumb, lol. FYI, I moved to Spokane, Washington last year but still keep the Idaho username.
Just wanted to bump this thread due to the recent debate about trading Yordan. On the Breathing Orange Fire Blog Read stories from Breathing Orange Fire on Medium: https://medium.com/@breathingorangefire_71114 Gabe and I are going to write a 6 part series on a complete rebuild. 1)Gabe will write about the reasoning, extent, and goals 2) I will write about who should be traded and potential values. 3) Gabe will write about what holes the trades should fill 4) I will write about the trades including teams, players/prospects, the new roster, comps and projections 5) Gabe will write about the new 2026 roster and expectations. 6) I will write about the road back to relevance and expectations 2027 and beyond. I'm sure it will get quite a bit of time on the pod as well. That should help get us through the next 2 months
I propose a complete league rebuild. Just have two teams with unlimited budgets in LA and NYC. then tell everyone else they have no chance and should just stop getting in the way by fielding teams. Then turn Cooperstown into one large gravestone.
