Yao lets lesser players take him out of the game. I understand the refs are calling his game poorly but you still have to find a way to dominate the scrubs. Our guards don't know how to get him the ball either and after the clock is running low, they panic and throw some ill-advised shot up and pray. So we have a chance of a turnover from the pass to the post to yao and then a chance of turnover from Yao fumbling the ball or having it stripped. It's unfortunate but every time Rafer, Head or James are trying to pass it in to Yao, i hold my breath b/c i know something is about to happen that i won't like(i actually hold my breath every time rafer touches the ball). Our guards are not the smartest players, thats for sure.
i would love to see Yao swing his elbow hard and break a few jaws there. What better positions can you ask to do some serious long term physical damage to someone? Just kill them!
I only saw the 4th quarter of the Spurs game, and Yao looked good against Duncan. I like the way he attacked Duncan, and especially that left hand hook he shot. That's what we, Rockets fans, expect him to play. He has to understand that he only has 3 good years left before his career begins to go downhill.
Yao does indeed need to improve his turnover habits and become more decisive with the ball...you'd think he'd of learn more by now. But you can stop with the worship and a%% kissing of Clutch. His opinions mean nothing more than the average die-hard Rocket fan...and even less than many of us if he never played ball competitively.
i remeber there was a report says they were working on Yao's hand strength last year. But i cant recall where that article was from tho.
wow, im glad someone felt the same way as i do. we should start a movement called " bring up the elbowness, Yao "
Here, Trade Yao for Kobe. And we can match up with the Suns with this line up: C Scola PF McGrady SF Battier SG Bryant PG James Lights out.
I wish Yao would swing his elbows a bit and get nasty. You have to make yourself known in the paint or you're going to get bullied. So far, he's been fighting back by complaining to the refs. That's not going to get it done.
then the guy will turn around and kick yao's ass. do you want yao to get owned in a fight like shawn bradley did that made him nba's biatch??
we could blame the guards alot about many things, but yao isn't giving them a good strong entry option. first he stands too high when posting up giving guys like kwame brown the chance to root him out. second he's not wide enough giving guys a chance to come around. basic post up is good base elbows up. alot of the to's are yao ming fault. i thought by now this wouldn't be the case, but here we are yr 5 and he still lets defenders get around, getting shots blocked by smaller guys at the rim instead of dunking the ball.
The Rockets has to give Yao a chance to be the go-to guy because only if he dominates that the team has a chance for a championship. Tell him directly that he's the man who will carry the team. The team expects him to put up 20-22 shots game, and give him a season to develop into the dominant player that we think he can be. If he fails to dominate after a season, turn to Tmac. Let Tmac be the go-to guy. Send Yao out to set screen for him the whole 4th quarter.
