where is this magic star? So far I hear only Herro (is this dude even a star) and Simmons (star that can't shoot). Smart franchise would wait it out until deadline at least, offers ramp up dramatically. I hope our franchise is a smart one and not one ruled by emotions like some of the posters on here.
Like who? Can’t shoot and is useless in the halfcourt Ben Simmons? The Rockets offered this guy who’s “done too much damage” a 50 mil/yr extension and still hope he takes it for a reason...
I'm ready to see this team without Harden... and he can take PJ with him... Time to move on and rebuild the team along with the culture - and it looks like we got some good pieces to do that with - plus whatever we get for Harden n PJ!
Awful lot of preseason silliness in this thread, starting with OP. Wood looked good, though. Kid's a very nice addition.
We dominated or were better in every statistical category as a team tonight, and we didn't even have the full team or time to gel in the regular season yet. Points, rebounds, Assists, FG%, 3PT%, less turnovers, fast break points, steals. Literally, click the link and compare our team stats. https://www.espn.com/nba/matchup?gameId=401265857 Our ceiling is too high to not see what we can do with Harden and time to gel in the regular season imo.
This roster is on a similar talent level as the 2018 squad. Wood > Capela Cousins > Nene/Ryno House < Ariza Wall < CP3 Harden, Gordon, Tucker, Green on both squads albeit older now. If Wall and Cousins stay healthy they have as good of a chance as anyone in the West outside of LA. Hopefully one of the young guys overachieves.
We have always been willing, and wanting of him to stay. It’s still on him. If he changes his mind, commits to the team, signs an extension, then let’s go. Otherwise, trade him. Even if he commits to this season, you don’t pass on a good deal for him without an extension or a guarantee he’ll re-sign (incredibly unlikely). I don’t want him to hav one foot our the door for this to be restarted in the off season.
Nwaba = Luc. And Ariza is completely overrated. Danuel May well be better. Better athlete for sure and has more variety in his shot effectiveness.
Harden is maybe the most underrated player in NBA history. Which is insane for an MVP. You roll with him as long as possible and see if we’re good enough to change his mind.
All I know is Toronto gambled on Kawhi and they won. Harden still has two years left in his contract.
Well Herro(I'm not a fan) ain't a star nor ever will be... You're not as smart as you think if you don't think Simmons is a star...
team with james as alpha dog will never win you championship, it's clear to majority of people outside Houston.
Simmons game isn't defined by "can't shoot"... He has a nice stroke, he just needs to shoot with confidene IMO... And yeah if I'm in the Rockets FO, I'd do everything to make him stay as well... I'm speaking as a fan that never was into Harden-mania to begin with... So this bs he doing was just icing on the cake for me and me only...
One great preseason game means nothing. Who remembers Kelvin Cato getting 14 blocks on a preseason game. I suspect Woods will be better than Cato and like many of you I am optimistic but Cato really burned me on getting too hyped on a player’s preseason performance.
As long as Harden is here this team will remain mediocre and the team's future looks bleak. The quicker they get rid of him the better
No need, it's just a routine basic description about Simmons that overshadows his impact .. .. Copy and paste And read where I said Herro was a star... You brought him up not me...
