    1. No corner 3's
    2. No easy layups
    3. No alley-oops
    4. No Nene Post-ups

They turned the game into a quagmire and the Rockets had no idea how to adjust...because there is no adjustment to make. Spurs are no OKC. OKC figured us after one game out but couldn't capitalize.

The Spurs have capitalized. Rockets are not ready for the big stage. Bottom line - back to the drawing board.

Draw up some floaters and mid range shots. We still in this.

A mid range stop and pop game will throw them in disarray

And there is no reason not to do it. Mid range is practically totally open

We aren't going to win that way. Our guys probably don't even practice mid-range shots. Can't change the offense in the 91st game of the season.

They know the Rockets won't do that. The only player on the team with any midrange game is Harden and Williams. That's not enough to change the way the Spurs play or give the Rockets an advantage.

Spurs realize - keep 2 bigs back to guard the rim on drives, and 4 guys to defend the 3 point line. Rotate your players based on where the ball is.

Rockets can't exploit the Spurs defensive adjustments. Pop has won the game of chess already.

    1) Stop with the floaters

    2) Harden attack the paint from the tip-off rather than just after halftime

    3) Run Anderson at Center for some stretches to stretch out their interior defense.

These guys are professional players, they can make a mid range shot. They just don't take them, shooters hit open shots all over the floor.

If you are open, take the shot.

It's not that simple, a lot of Harden drives gets blocked, it hard enough to drive past Leonard and finish over Bigs. It's not possible to be efficient at it all game long.

They don't even have to shoot from that far either. Pau literally sits at the restricted area waiting for Rockets to drive to him. The area around the free throw line is completely open. Instead of driving it all the way for a layup where Gasol is waiting, pull up 2 steps sooner and drill the baby jumper. When they adjust to that, the lob will be back in play. Take what the defense gives you, and make them regret it.

The Spurs are a better team, not by that much maybe, but they're better, they also have a winning mentality which is something we lack and that makes a difference when the game is on the line, not a case we basically lost every game which was close starting the fourth quarter...

Yeah we should really try different looks, at least for a couple of possessions to keep them guessing. Now all the bigs just wait for the drive when we don't take the three

I think this is mostly it.
Lots of open shots not going down.

But Spurs have figured some things out. Like the corner threes. Which are now non existent.

Beyond choking, MDA has to do a better job. I know NBA ball isn't the most play drawn up sport.... but the Rockets run 0 plays other than high pick and rolls. And it's a great play. But when it's ALL you run it becomes easier and easier to defend by good defensive teams.

Hope isn't lost... but it does require some actually strategy to be implemented.

The Rockets missed 27 3pt shots tonight. If they don't make shots, they are going to lose.

We blew them out in the first game when we shot 44% 3s. That's not sustainable. But the 30% shooting tonight is also not the norm. So calm down. We'll shoot better. I knew when more than 2 of our 5 shooters (Ariza, Beverley, Anderson, Gordon, Williams) is cold, we'd be done. If Aldridge was hitting, we'd be doubly done.

I'm more worried about not being able to stop their bigs on defense.

Are you ****ing kidding I solved this offense in Jr. High....Utah Solved it - all you need is discipline on the perimeter and a big to clog the paint.

This is as rudimentary as they come offensively....Harden deserves better.

Contested 3s are not consistently going down, we are easy to guard by elite teams because we have no plan B, no midrange, no post.....we are a regular season team only.

MOREY and LES this is on you!

    OKC actually figured it out.

they just didn't execute down the stretch to take advantage of it. now they're playing a team that can.
