Just keep giving him his credit and let the haters be exactly that. Let them fantasize about Mike James (b/c he certainly took us far), want to bring back Francis, trade for crap like Eric Snow ect.... There's no winning with them so there's no point in even discussing Skip with them. While they're complaining about Skip and asking for James back they might want to check into why he lost his job to Randy Foye.

the reason why i love to see him play is because he gives it his all.. I know he has bad shooting nights but he makes up for that in his strong play in other areas..i can care less that he miss some shots because in reality we still win..do you understand that he is the only other pentration on the wing besides tmac..tracy can not take every shot..so somebody has to do the scoring as well..appreciate what he does for the team because he brings Heart to the game every night

He advances the ball really well and does a decent job of running the offense. That is about it. Personally, I wish he were on the bench and the Rockets had a better starting PG like every team that will likely be in the playoffs.

I think its because its such a low percentage shot for him. Parker penetrates and finishes and noone complains about how he doesn't pass out. Rafer usually breezes past his man easily but he just can't finish. Its frustrating. I've seen him nail those shots before i think he should go back in the summer to work on lay ups lols

Uh...If rafer was playing in Minnesota the way he plays here dont you think he would lose his starting job too? Seems to me both of them play too inconsistant but at least James shoots better and finshes better and defends better and can create better and...

LOL, you know this board's morale sank when James wasn't acquired on Thursday :)

If we lose early and flame out in the playoffs, it'll be because of our lack of depth and no established third scorer.

I'm pretty sure Van Gundy is fine with Rafer's 13 ppg, 6 apg, and 36% 3-point shooting.

And you know you about keeled over and died when you heard the Rockets were trying to get him. Face it, you were wrong -- dead wrong -- about the Rockets and Mike James.

Damn, getting the Rafer excuses lined up already.

Rafer is the best option we lack.

    Rockets111,

You really don't have much faith in Rafer, do you? Already compiling a list to deflect blame -- should there be any -- come playoff time?

Its reasonable alot of people seem to dislike Rafer because of his lack of intensity which is important in playoffs. Even when he plays good people can him

stop with the bashing of the Dark Horse! Rafer should come out on a black horse during the intros at the first playoff game. The way Clutch comes out on the motorcycle.

Rafer doesn't need excuses. His solid, consistant play speaks for itself. This team falls apart without him, as we have seen. So he doesn't have a great shooting percentage. Well, basketball isn't just about shooting, despite what some here may think.

If we fail in the playoffs, it won't be because of Rafer. That's for sure.

some of you people really need to start watching other teams other than the rockets and other point guards other than rafer alston....trust me. you wont think he's that great...and you dont have to go far as steve nash to see it......we can start with mo williams and jose calderon
