Fire CD, He's been NOTHING but lucky. He pick's losers ALL.

It's his fault for thinking, like the rest of the BBS, that Swift will grow out of his funk and be a great PF. Boy was he wrong. Dump #ss.

CD can't see pass the nose on his head. Rudy Gay is the next Lebron and he traded for a stiff who can't do anything good.

He messed with Mike James and lost him for a kicker. Hope he can kick better then the Texan's yahoo.

OK what else did he mess up.

He hired a jerk who doesn't know how to coach. That JVG is worthless.

    Did I go overboard?

That's how all the haters sound to me. CD is worthless. Anything good happens to the team it's luck. Anything bad happens it's his fault.

While CD may not be the best GM (I don't think he ever won a GM of the year). He did get the job done on Yao. Beyond the "luck" into the 1st pick part, him and the rest of the management worked hard to make it happen. They were dealing with the Chinese government and NOTHING comes easy when you are dealing with them.

For getting Yao here, I will give him a passing grade for life. And again I say, let's hope he leaves with a bang and he's holding up "the trophy" in the end with the owner and the coach.

again, it doesn't matter what we think, we're not running the team. I can't stand that logic, oh all the fans thought it was a good move too.

CD has always been well respected in my book. Last I remember, he is still part of Houston's glory days when we won two championships. Not all of us are bashing CD still.

A new bread slicer is invented every year and right now the Rockets are looking real pretty. We've been here before. Like the tides, the roar of crowd can be vehement, raucous, or delirious with joy and other less desirable emotions. The earlier anger and disillusion has thankfully quelled.

CD would make a heck of a battle strategist. Bonzi could be the secret bonding agent. Here's hoping the glue sticks and our current enchantment prevails.

    pgabriel,

I hope you read the rest of the story. I don't think like what you just quoted. It's how it seems like everyone has 20/20 vision after the fact.

Swift was a mistake. CD was the GM when they "stole" him for the MLE. Didn't work out and now he's traded away.

Doesn't matter anyway. Swift was one of many that the Rockets tried out as role players for the 2 stars.

Now it's Battier's turn and Wells (1 year). If this works, and I don't care if CD lucked into it, I would be very happy to buy "World Champion Rockets" T-shirts next year :p

Really? If I recall correctly half the board predicted 73-9 season the moment we got McGrady, like we do every season -- which is fine, cause we're fans, and that's what we should do, but predictions aren't worth anything after the games are played.

What if tracy's back flares up again? Then it wasn't so smart. I'm not giving him any credit till we actually make the playoffs and win a series. I know that's a lofty goal but over 25% of the league does it every given year...and we haven't done it in nearly a decade since CD has been GM. I find that not really acceptable, adn I'm not inclined as you are to say "hey it seemed like a good idea at the time!" -- time is short, and ultimately winning games is what it's about, and we haven't been doing that.

each year? Where have you been? Hakeem hasn't been a dominant-ish player since 1997....we've been rebuidling for 9 seasons, and where are we? Oh yes..the lottery.

No, that's not your point. Your point is it SEEMED Like he did a good job acquiring players...........until they played the games. Then it didn't seem like such a good job...that's MY point, and ultimately that's what we should go by, in my opinion.

Aberration? Krosfyah we've been in the lottery 4 out of the last six years....instead of an aberration it was depressingly par for the course.

Ah yes...the 05/06 season? Where James shot lights out all season long, was incredibly productive, and got paid all of $3m? And where Alston was a freaking embarrassment who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn? LOL, even if James went insane and decided to quit basketball and raise pigeons for the rest of the night - it doesn't take a genius to figure that having him for last season (which the rockets could have) would have helped you win more games thans taking on a loser like Rafer and the 4 years left on his deal...and in the end, that's Carroll's job. .

CD make some stupid decisions in June but he did something well in the end of SEPT.
if we could win the NBA title in 1 or 2 years. I would say: "Sorry, CD and thank you what you did for the Rockets"

    i tell you what...

cd has relationships with alot of people in this league. he does business the right way.

when he goes, we're screwed cause this morey guy is gonna have to be one helluva swindler to get as good a deals as cd has.

i've been critical of cd too. but if you know business, you know that deals are very fragile and can go in a million different directions...

cd has laid some eggs, but we may look back and miss the guy. i mean he has the relationships built up. and now morey will have to re-make those relationships.

it's not just relationships with people around the league, it's agents, and players too. think morey will do as well on that side of the business as cd?

morey will probably go after better players... but he may not be able to get them for awhile.

we'll see if he is any good at it.

i like cd. . . for today that is

Isn't it about time that we can remove the whole "Punk'd" graphic from the front page? I think the Rockets made out pretty well this off-season, all things considered.
