Ugh, we're going to see more of this guy when the Texas governor's race draws near. He and Perry are basically bonded at the hip.

I hope you are right. Rudy isn't wildly popular in Texas.

This is hilarious considering we just had the exact freaking replica of the Richard Reed incident.

Why does Giuliani and other republicans give Bush on 9/11, Robert Reid and other terrorist attacks?

The problem is Giuliani is playing right to the Limbaugh/ Palin/ Teabag base that takes everything the wing nuts say as absolute gospel. Thankfully this type of thing will just further divide the fringe right base from the moderates.

Rudy is joining a chorus of liars

    • On November 24, 2009, while appearing on the Hannity show on Fox News Channel, Dana Perino, W's last Press Secretary, asserted that "We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term."

    • Liz Cheney, Dick eldest daughter, launched the "Keep America Safe" campaign longing for the safe environment that W and her father had provided the nation.

    • Mary Matalin maintains that W had kept the nation safe despite inheriting the most horiffic terrosist attack in history

They think that Americans are so stupid that they can rewrite history before their eyes and have them believe it. They're probably right. :(

Actually hasn't the Bush 43 Admin and its defenders been saying, "no acts of terrorism since 9/11" on US soil for years? In fact I've seen that trotted out here on Clutchfans every now and then. The only difference with what Giuliani said was that he forgot to mention 9/11.

the dems should have started pushing back when the republicans started running that, "no attacks since 9-11", just like healthcare, they are losing the message battle.

I think that normally I would give Giulliani the benefit of the doubt that he just forgot. But in the wake of the similar comments by Perino and Matalin mentioned earlier, I'm more inclined to believe his omission was intentional.

It's not really about how smart we are, but how little people care about news in general. We don't keep track of terrorists who were apprehended already. We only keep track of their successes, and then only the big ones that occur on our soil. i.e. How many people know of Al Qeada's works pre-9/11?

They get away with this stuff because average Joes and Janes have other things to worry about besides double-checking to see if every politician's statements are backed up by facts.

For the most part this is true, but it really shouldn't take any fact checking for the average American to remember that Bush was president when 9/11 happened and 3000 American civilians died in NYC.

since telling that lie (that there was not a terrorist attack under W's watch) on ABC's Sunday moring talk show, Rudy's office has issued at least 3 corrections, thus far.

    • The Governor meant that there was no terrorist attack after 9/11
      • as if the shoe bomber, Anthrax scare, DC Sniper, shooting in LAX, attack at UNC campus, etc. didn't happen

    • The Governor believes that the Anthrax scare was not a terrorist attack
      • The Attorney General at the time, John Ashcroft, called it an act of terrorism

    • The Governor meant that there was no terrorist attack committed by Muslims
      • The DC sniper, the shooter in LAX and the attacker at UNC campus are muslims
Expect more corrections / retractions from Rudy's office.
