As for the Hitler comparisons, I think it's perfectly fine to reference certain areas where there is a clear contrast. Namely how Hitler took advantage of class & racial grievances during economic hardships of the German working class, and how the German business community backed him financially & help consolidate the power behind him in order to defeat the liberal party from being elected because of the fear of taxes.

There are ALOT of Hitler facts that are very relevant to our current climate... but nobody should diminish the Holocaust or WW2 in the process. As long as people are clear about that, there's should be no issues at all with calling out clear distinct similarities in the two men, and our current climate in comparison to post WW1 Germany.
