    MICHAEL PHELPS CHOSE STEPHANIE RICE

    With the Games coming to a close, athletes have switched to "let's burn through these condoms" mode. And with Michael Phelps apparently hooking up with recently-single Aussie swimming star Stephanie Rice, Page Six has shifted into junior-high gossip mode:

    Phelps, fresh from shattering Mark Spitz's 36-year-old record, was spotted Monday night in a hot make-out session with Down Under swimmer Stephanie Rice, a source [said]. The pumped-up pair clinched and swapped spit at a celebratory bash outside the Olympic Village.

    The Baltimore Bullet swooped in for the lip-lock with the 20-year-old brunette just weeks after she split from Aussie swimmer Eamon Sullivan. "All the swimmers are talking about it, and [Sullivan] is cut up about what happened," the source said.

    I don't think Eamon Sullivan should be too upset. Michael Phelps has 14 gold medals and is kind of the biggest star in the world until the Olympics come to a close. He was gonna get whatever woman he wanted, it might as well be yours. It's like losing your girlfriend to James Bond. Kind of a compliment, really.

    By the way, that item also noted that Phelps and Rice played "tonsil hockey." Seriously, tonsil hockey. Page Six would also like you to know that first comes love, followed by a baby, then ultimately that baby in a baby carriage.

    Phelps and Rice look like each other. If you cover the top halves of their faces it becomes more apparent. Front on their noses and lips are exact copies.
