Just out of curiosity, Pimp, who are you talking to? I don't remember anyone here calling any of these girls sluts or strippers.

I misread a statement about topless dancers earlier, but below is a quote.

I'll concede that it's overly harsh and unfair to call these girls sluts. I realize that there is such a phenomenon as mob mentality in which a person within a large group of people may engage in behaviors that they would not normally engage in. I was just trying to convey my disgust with the sort of behavior in question here.

It mostly depends on how the photo or video is used. It also depends on the state too, since some states have stricter laws in this area than others.

My opinion? They made money off her likeness....she should be entitled to a portion. I think she can sue & win.....but I'm no lawyer:D

Here's a short except I found:

There's a lot more info here if anyone is interested....

funny,
I have one of these DVDs at my house right now. IT sucks. its only entertaining of you are drunk with buddies pickkng on the stupid girls in it.

dont spend the 20 bucks. just go to mardi gras.

i did last year, and that was entertaining. these movies were soo boring and non entertaining in any way that i watched maybe 20 mins and stoped it. i do still have to give it back to my friend.

anyhoo. my 2cents

Here's a question, though, was there a release of some kind given? Verbal assent is legal. One doesn't need a signed contract to get consent.

For that matter, one doesn't necessarily have to get consent directly from the person in question. When making movies, companies put up signs when shooting on location that state that by entering their filming area, they are giving consent to be captured on film, etc. As far as I've ever heard, that's a legal way to get consent.

But I think the company wins on news value alone. :D

This is ridiculous, she won't and she shouldn,t get a dime. If you don't want your boobs on DVD then don't take your clothes off in public.
If you wanna get paid to be naked, negotiate a deal with some p*rn mag. If you just want to get naked without appearing in anyones movie do it on your own private property.
Do the celebrities that appear on the front cover of the Enquirer (sp?) get paid for each paper sold.
When are people gonna start taking responsibility for there own stupid actions.

To judge many of the women like that, it sounds like many (Johnny, Princess, others) of you have never caught that Mardi Gras groove. VOR, I agree with you, there are some things film or video don't do justice. One of them is looking out over grand natural wonders, another is experiencing Mardi Gras in the Big Easy. The cameras and video are going to kill the spirit of whole thing if it already hasn't, that would be too bad.
